Hi
I have just upgraded from Windows ME to XP Pro. I've had quite a few conflict problems but have managed to resolve them. I still have one major problem and that is my computer will not shut down on exit. When I go to shut down, it saves my settings, but then the blue screen turns black and white and then freezes.
The only way to shut off is by switching at the mains...not good for my computer I would have thought!
Would be great if anybody has any ideas to resolve this.

an easy question if you know it
the second function on my laptop, "Fn" works sometimes, but not always. I constantly use this function for volume, and sometimes it stops working-
I assume I inadvertantly pressed a "lock" of some sort, but i've tried every combination to release it, with no luck. How do I get it working again??

When I recive mail in my yahoo mail box it appears fine when I download to outlook express it apears as a (text 5 message) and is unreadable, it only opens in notepad anyone with the same problem?

NOW:
Company A already has a stand-alone CRM software app., which it sells to its clients: X, Y and Z.

The present CRM app. interacts with an "Interbase" DB (Borland), installed "in-house" @ each client X, Y, Z.

NEEDED:
Co. A wants to implement a web-based interface to this DB, so that its clients X, Y, Z can choose to install either:

a) the stand-alone software app, -or-
b) the web-interface to the DB

The Question(s):
---------------------
Q1) What is the best/simplest tech approach to generate this web interface? (language, OS?)

Q2) Could the web-interface interact with the DB, using/via the present CRM software app?
(so that the same business logic does not need to be replicated + maintained in 2 places: the present software app AND the new web-interface...).

Oh...and Co.A says the web-interface should be an OS-independent solution (not Win or Linux-specific).
Clients X, Y and Z may have Linux or Win web servers...

Any ideas/suggestions/pointers? Thanks!

Why are young people advertising on here like some of them are.. The way the world is today all the media ever does is critizie the internet already for having so many online predetors, yet these girls who are 14, 15, 16 ask questions like who want's my vagina.... I've been running tracert from a DOS session trying to locate a spammer's ISP, and when it gets to about the 16th hop the DOS window closes with prejudice (very suddenly.) I did it last week, and the trace ended normally - any ideas? By the way, the ISP is called "Bay Area Internet Solutions"

I had to replace my hard drive but I had no windows program to install. A friend of mine was kind enough to let me use his but now I got this problem playing games cause its ask to install the latest version of directx but Microsoft has to scan and verify that I have a genuine copy of widows . is there a way besides buying my own copy of windows to install directx without Microsoft verifying my copy of windows.
