I've been running tracert from a DOS session trying to locate a spammer's ISP, and when it gets to about the 16th hop the DOS window closes with prejudice (very suddenly.) I did it last week, and the trace ended normally - any ideas? By the way, the ISP is called "Bay Area Internet Solutions"

Did you run this from an already open command prompt or from the "Run" command from the start menu? If you ran it from the "Run" command, it may automatically close after the command (the tracert) is finished.

Try going to DNSStuff.com and using thier traceroute tools if you are running it from an already open command prompt.
