i have checked the main volume level in my control panel, checked the level on the speakers, checked the level on the program i am running music on. just for some reason i have to turn them half way up just to hear anything. before i was able to have them at 1/4 and it would be too loud. ANY IDEAS?

Windows XP: it seems my .gif and .wav files have turned BLUE text like system files. Everything seems to work ok and doing properties shows nothing different than a normal file.

any ideas ?

To most of you who are actually trying to help me, when I read your answer, and it gets to where I should click on "more" to read the rest of your response, that %$^&&*&*^$##)% thing pops up.
It says at the bottom of the notification:
"We have created an error report that you can send us to improve Microsoft Explorer
Then options "Send report" or "Don't Send"
If I send the report, it doesn't help. If I look at the report, it's all gibberish I don't understand, And I STILL HAVE THE %#*&!@ problem.
can I contact Microsoft Explorer about this, and How?

When I boot up my desktop as well as my laptop, I get an error message that some file (the files are different on the laptop and desktop) is missing or cannot be found. I did not delete anything or mess with the system files. It just started poping up recently. How do I resolve this issue? They are both running XP Home. I have the system restore disks for both.

Using css and html, I would like to be able to create a column of images (all of same width but different heights), then create another column to its right with more images, then another, etc.

In my attempts to do this, I have repeatedly run into the problem of not being able to stack images on top of each other. Restraining the width of a div does not result in stacked images, but just seems to break the div.

Hey, everyone, I'm new to the Yahoo! Answers community. I don't really know if this is the right place to post this.
I was wondering, (these may be a few questions) exactly what new features are available in Windows Vista Beta 2? Also, I downloaded the beta of Vista, and all I get is a readme file saying to burn to a DVD because its in the UDF format. I don't have a DVD burner, though. Does anyone know what utility or application I can use to start installing Vista on my PC?

I have the driver disk that came with the laptop originally and also the xp pro disk although it might not be the original one . I had a trojan that messed things up so badly that I just need to start all over with a clean drive, do I need another program to make sure it is wiped totally clean?
