i have checked the main volume level in my control panel, checked the level on the speakers, checked the level on the program i am running music on. just for some reason i have to turn them half way up just to hear anything. before i was able to have them at 1/4 and it would be too loud. ANY IDEAS?

Go to manufacture of your computers web site ,,see if there are updated audio drivers for your computer.

Are you using Windows? If so, how many volume adjusters are you seeing. If you're only seeing three or four then you should be able to expand it to many many more. You want to make sure that the WAV volume is up if you're listening to music off your computer, or the CD volume is up if you're listening through your CD player on the computer...

I'd also try rebooting, sometimes the bits can get all confused in there... or the physical connections with the speakers?

You may have an outside program that controls your speakers, depending on your driver, check to make sure thats all the way up.. and if you have a vol knob on your keyboard try disconnecting the keyboard to see if that fixes it. sometimes if they short out or die, that can do that.

if you have a powered sub woofer-- the amp in the subwoofer that powers them may be on the way out OR---you may have gotten a automatic driver update downloaded---happened to me---go to audio properties and go to --roll back driver---or doing a system restore in accessories --system tools --restore system to a date when you didn,t have this problem---worked great for me!!!----ps--check your mute button

Maybe it's not connected all the way. Check if the chord is plugged in all the way.
