I need a new computer for school next year, and while looking on the Mac homepage, I noticed their new laptop called MacBook. I was wondering if this is a better buy than a Powerbook, what would be the best model to buy, etc. I really appreciate all the help I could get!! Thanks!

i would say it depends simply on your budget. i would suggest to look at the following notebooks (order is from cheapest to most expensive)
- Dell Inspiron B130
- Apple MacBook
- Dell Inspiron E1505 (with the graphics card ATI X1400 it's also possible to play games)
- Apple MacBook Pro

MacBooks are excellent computers. The key difference between the MacBook and the Powerbook is the intel core duo processor vs the PowerPC processor. The MacBook will be substantially faster. There is now a MacBook and a MacBook pro also. The difference between those is that the MacBook pro uses a 3D Gaming type video card instead of intel onboard video, which makes it able to play games. If it was me I would get a MacBook Pro 15.4" because it is the best performance and a 17" laptop is just to big to carry comfortably.

laptop computers can be a rather tricky buy at times, I would suggest that you look out for the cheapest and yet latest desktop on the market,

the best way to do this is on what they call warehouse sale markets some of them are online.

these warehouse owners have a service where they sell laptop computers to normal customers like you and me, however with very reduced prices due to the fact that they do not have as much costs as normal shops do, such as rent and a employees etc. as you know most online shops have rather competitive prices sometimes cutting the laptop price to a half.

one such website for laptop computers is :
