When I boot up my desktop as well as my laptop, I get an error message that some file (the files are different on the laptop and desktop) is missing or cannot be found. I did not delete anything or mess with the system files. It just started poping up recently. How do I resolve this issue? They are both running XP Home. I have the system restore disks for both.

I have downloaded pics and files. If I use system restore, it will delete them. I would have to system restore to about 2 weeks ago.

Is there anyway to use the system restore disks to re-install these missing files. If so, how do I do that?

Do you have any backed up files on your labtop or desktop?
if you created any backups, you could try and restore them that way.
