I have this old compaq P2 that has been unplugged for awhile. Now when I plug it, the on light flashes on and off, I dont have to even have to touch anything? Why is it doing this? I just put new cords from cd-rom player and 3.5 floppy disk in-could that efect this? When I unplugged the computer it did work. Can someone tell me what to do to fix this?

is it possible to run vista beta on a lower spec machine than required
i know it needs 800mhz+ and 512mbram,but as i have 2 machines meeting these requirments,i do not want to use them as i have them the way i like them
my only spare formatted machine is a amd 500mhz cpu and 256mb ram,can i use that to put a copy on to,even if i have to saccrifice speed as i only want to have a look at the layout and general look of the system
can i do it,or will it lock up,or give me a message explaining i do not meet the requirments
i only ask this,because i managed to install xp on a 166mhz pc with 64mb ram ,which is well below the min req for that operating system

"Automatic Updates Setup wizerd" pops up each time my comp is turn on. i was told that it's best that i ignore it and not to update my comp. i was told that this way i will not get bugs or virus. is it best for me not to? or do i need to update. thanks for your reply

My brother received an email from www.proeducation.info saying that he has been offered a job, the first thing he has to do is to send account details. Unfortunately he did without asking me or anyone. Now he's been asked to search for officesses in london. He did that too without even anyone noticing what he is doing. He got the proposal from one of the offices people which he forwarded to proeducation.info. Now he was said that he will be getting 1200 pounds from the client tomorrow morning which he has to transfer via western union money transfer to proeducation.info after deducting 250 pounds of his commission.

Please tell me if it is a fake company or any kind of scam.

I have problems with my computer when it's idle for about an hour, sometimes the screen will go blank, and it will stay that way. I wiggle the mouse and hit a key, and still the screen will not come back up. It's not the moniter, because it did this with the old one. I'm wondering if it's some kind of Standby mode or what?
