sounds to me like you're running an older version of windows and it's having resource allocation issues. i had this problem when i was running 98.

increasing your computer's memory (ram) might help, and if you've got 128mb or better, consider upgrading to windows 2000. it's more robust for handling multiple programs.

it could also be you've got a program with a memory leak, which is eating up more and more memory as time goes by. you can try updating the software you're running to the latest patch and see if that helps.

if you're using an old computer (with less than 128mb ram) you might want to consider upgrading to a newer system too.

You may want to try and increase your virtual memory. You can do that by right clicking on "My Computer", clicking on the "Advanced" tab, clicking on the settings button in the performance box, then clicking on the "Advanced" tab and changing your virtual memory. You can probably get away with putting double what you currantly have in.

GOOD LUCK

exact reason your computer tells you, you are low on system resources... most common fix for this is to increase the RAM in your system, though it could be a processor or HD limitation as well.

Because you are running too many programs and your computer can't keep up.
