Does it give the message "Your computer will shut down in 30 seconds"? Then you have a virus that attacked some critical Windows program. If you want to stop this, go to Start, Run, and type in the two words: shutdown -a. Then hit OK. This will take off the countdown. Now you have enough time to run your virus removal tool (if you don't have one, AVG is free). Or better yet take it to some knowledgeable computer whiz, because if you got this virus you probably also need a firewall.
If it's just restarting on its own without an error message, it sounds like a physical problem. See if your power supply gives clean power - try using a surge protector or something. Or you may have a defective computer. My computer had that problem when I bought it, and they replaced the power supply (free under warranty).

CPU fan going out, computer overheating. Get a small desk top fan and aim it towards unit for a quick, but not the best, fix.
Virus. Run an up to date antivirus program.

More details. What are you doing just before it does this? Does a message pop up? Are you trying to run a certain program/game?
