Computers & Internet - 8 June 2006

I have cable right now but I live with my folks. I am moving out next month and have no clue how to connect my desktop to the internet. I have a VoIP phone and prefer it that way so am not planning on getting a landline phone at all. Any suggestions as I am technologically challenged?

Man i'm not going to Y! Chat anymore. So, this is what happened.

Alright, i got my new headsetm so I went to my fav chatroom and chatted (as usual) and i got into a conversation with my friend. someone then (I don't know who he is) talked to me in public and he left then suddenly, windows of IMs popped up from a bot!! HELP! I can't click the ignore button cos the window was multiplying fast. I then groped for the reset button and resetted my computer.

I scanned for Spyware Tracking cookies and viruses with McAfee after that incident. Chatrooms are banned for me now. I am now chatting with people i know. PLease help!!?? I hate bots badly!!

All right so what is actually better... MAC or PC??? I mean I really enjoy getting all the viruses and stuff while using my PC so I think I am going to stick to it... but what is really better??? I mean can MAC really talk to Japanese cameras??? HAHa ok so that is a slight exaggeration but can MACs do all PCs can now??? Oh and I think that a PC can speak JApanese too so the comercial is being a little unfair... but yeah I mean I know MAC has wicked video editing software, but I have played with one before and it really wasn't that fun because it seemed that everything was formatted worse... but maybe I was playing with an old mac or something I dunnooo... but yeah gist is... MAC or PC.. it is up to you

My computer is running really slow and there are some errors on some files. I was trying to run Scan Disk and I got a message saying "Scan Disk has started 10 times, do you want to continue?" I tried to continue but it wouldn't run. The blue line that shows it is checking files would not even run all the way. Is there anything I can do to fix this? Thank you for your help.

Ok ive done some tests and i have 4 viruses, heres what they are.
-The Trj/Downloader.WI Virus was found in file C:\counter.cab
-The Trj/Downloader.WI Virus was found in file C:\counter.cab
-The Trj/Downloader.AEE Virus was found in file C:\counter.cab
-The W32/Sdbot.ftp.worm Virus was found in file C:\WINDOWS\system32\oo

How do i get rid of them, becuase norton can't (and if possible i want to get rid of them for free)

I have the subscription for rhapsody and I downloaded a lot of songs but now everytime I try to put those songs in itunes its gives me a drm message and how it needs to convert the file. And when from rhapsody I try to put it in my iPod it takes me to this page where I have to pay. Can anyone help me with this or tell me how to convert those files?
