That means your company has put in a proxy server which means they can control which web sites you are allowed/approved to visit. If you have a legitimate need to visit a certain site that is coming up blocked, call your helpdesk or computer people, and ask them to help you. I had a user who was doing research on breast cancer but couldn't get to the sites because we banned the word "breast" and once she explained what she needed, we fixed it right up for her.

If you are trying to visit a site that's not work-related, then wait till you are at home on your own computer to do so. Companies have the right to decide how the computer equipment they furnish is being used. And any company that's gone to the trouble of setting up a proxy will probably be monitoring activity, too. You may get some suggestions on software or special web sites that let you bypass this security but if your job finds out, you'll probably get in trouble or maybe even lose your job.

dcgirl is correct!

To avoid this, use a proxy server!
you can make your own, but for this you would need your own website for this just see: https://www.glype.com/

You could also just use other people's, like mine (http://lightningxd.cu9.co/proxy/) or just do a google search!

Hope I was able to help you! (please rate my answer!)
