The motorcar has been around for 100 years, yet it doesn't really strike me as showing 100 years progress. It still basically comes down to the driver sitting on the chassis holding a wheel as a controlled explosion occurs, driving the wheels forward, and emitting smoke out the back. All car companies have done is dress the car up with more modern bodywork and gadgets inside. Why have car companies been so lazy? Or has car design advanced more than I am aware?

Are there any tricks or anything that will give me a little bit of an advantage, or are there any things the testers usually like to see?

I'm taking my test in California. I don't know if that makes a difference or anything though haha.

I am looking at a Ford-150, The new Toyota Tundra and the Dodge Ram 2500 Cummins Diesel. Which would be the best for all around use. Such as towing a trailer that weighs 2 tons, and hauling. I want something that will last.

Thanks

Last night I arrived home to find a car blocking half of my driveway. I wasn't able to park it inside. Would I have to call a tow-truck? Free of charge for me, right? or who would I have to call?

As you know gas prices are outrageous.. and I'm only 16 years old so I kinda want to spend the money I earn in different ways.

I have a Mercedes-Benz c230 kompressor and it takes premium gas.

I was wondering if it would be ok if I put unleaded instead of premium in it..

I have done it once before and it just smelled a lot like gas but that's it. I didn't hear anything unusual and my car didn't act up.

I didn't see any gas leaking out anywhere or anything so I think I'm alright..

but is this ok to use unleaded if I can withstand the smell of gas? lol

ok, i know it is a stupid thing to do but in my defense i have two cars and one's unleaded and the other a diesel .. .still stupid thought!!!. last night i started putting in unleaded into my SEAT toledo and then i realised what i was doing after 4 liters... luckly the fuel tank was practically empty - so i was able to top the rest of the tank up with diesel and got in 43 litres of it, so it started up fine and i drove for about 35 mins all the way home in it no problemn. I am just wondering thought am i out of the woods yet or could i still experience problems, i know that unleaded fuel can damage a special seal or ring inside the catalytic convertor... could this still happen or do you think i have put such a small amount in and mixed it in with plenty of diesel that it will be ok? I am going to keep topping the tank up with diesel to continue to dilute the unleaded...
Thanks everyone

like the ones with the "fart can" mufflers. Is it for attention, like the louder it is the more tougher they are?
Also, why do they like to drive for as long as possible in 1st gear, so the drone goes on & on. Its really not necessary. Sometimes I feel like taking my foot and stepping on the muffler to break it off.

More info, I contacted the customer and she said this happend
twice before. Both times the guage went all the way around to
the BOTTOM of the rest peg, The battery was disconnected.
The last time it happend, another repair shop only changed the battery. Next question is, how do I convince her I am not at fault for this, even though this has happend before? She will here
nothing of it, and wont pay for diagnostics of the guage problem or parts that may be included with this. She wants it fixed, and wont pay for the intake job if I don't correct the guage problem for free.

I have a 7 year old Cavalier in excellent shape that only has about 52,000 miles on it. I live within walking distance of my job, shopping, and entertainment in an urban neighborhood. I don't really like to drive, so for the past year and a half I've only been driving about 20 or 30 miles a week or less. I put less than 3,000 miles on the car last year. I'm afraid of causing rust or other damage to the car by letting it just sit there. Is there a mininum number of miles I should drive the car per week or month just to keep it in good working condition? What's the best way to take care of a car you don't use that much?

4 weeks ago I made the stupid mistake of driving on a Sunday morning after heavy session of drinking the night before. I thought all of the alcohol would have been out of my system but I didn't finish drinking until 3am and I slept and then drove home at around 9am so it was very dumb. I was breathalysed and subsequently banned for 15 months. It was my 1st offence. I have worked hard for a good career and have a BA(Hons) and an MBA and was due for an final interview for a consultancy position at a big 4 firm. I have had to postpone it but i can go in at the same stage at a later date and my current employer (a blue chip) has been excellent about it and allowed me to keep my job. I am 28 and the conviction won't be 'unspent' for 5 years so i will have to declare it until then and can't hire a car. I am just wondering what Big 4 employers, e.g. Accenture, CapGemini, Ernst & Young etc think of a conviction like this and whether it would mean I am ineligible for employment with them?
