well if he had a baby seat and the time he could take an baby . the thing is if he is a company driver he may need permission to bring you along . he may need to sign a waver that means if you get hurt he cant sue the company .
if he owns his own truck and pays his own insurance if the insurance covers a passenger then you can go . there is no law against this at all
if he is going to cross the national border he will need to bring your id and if he has a fast pass or other fast way of crossing because he is pre checked then when your in the truck that does not apply so he would have to cross in the regular lane not a problem just takes more time.

It all depends on the carrier your dad drives for. Usually you can.....but usually it is during designated times of the year (generally spring/summer months), and 14 years of age and up. But like I said, it all depends on the carrier.
If you dad owns his own truck, it would also depend on the insurance company. Stipulations have become really tight in the past 6 years, which is a big reason for a lot of the new rules and regulations within companies, as well as insurers for owner operators.

I think you need to talk to your Dad. Most commercial freight carriers have insurance that probably would not let a minor travel with his Dad. If your Dad is an independent truck driver, it would then depend on the terms of his insurance policy and conditions of the contract on the freight he was hauling.
