Laws vary from state to state however something that is probably close to the same is the fine line between felony vs misdemeanor...

i.e. in terms of the dollar amount of the damage done... body work and bumpers can get very spendy very quickly...

in Idaho the dollar amount which makes something a felony is $300.00 or more...

guess what if you scratched and dented the older mid 60's to 70's car bumper just rechroming part would be over that $300.00 mark, not to mention that Hit & Run is basically a evading/eluding a Law /enforcement Officer charge which also is in most states an automatic felony...

Its best to find an attorney to assist you in your defense and then immediately turn yourself in before the come looking and find you....

it looks better to the judge and prosecution in the case and makes your attorney's job easier and cheaper on your pocket book too..

Was there any damage to the other car or yours? Any paint off or anything. Did you check it out or get scared and leave quickly. If you can live with yourself and not let it eat you up and there was no damage to eithier one you should be ok. To put your mind at ease you might talk to someone, police dept etc. or just let it go Good Luck
