Is it just me or do Hybrid Vehicle owners believe they are special, because they own something I personally would not be caught dead in?

For starters, they drive slow in the fast lane even though they know the car is not capable of even a decent rate of speed. Most of the owners brag about them like its a Lamborgini or Ferrari. Next, people are driving one just because celebrities are, for now at least.

What are your thoughs and opinions?

These trucks are found in the Pacific Northwest (this photo was taken outside Seattle: link to Flickr http://www.flickr.com/photos/89894036@N00/ ). Haven't seen these in any where else during my travels in the USA. Was wondering why only here, what is the purpose, and meaning behind the design and restriction to this area.

Hey all! I'm thinking that for my next vehicle I could really use a truck. I'd need it to be pretty reliable and relatively fuel efficient though and my price range would be up to about $5K. I've seen mid-late 90s Rams, F150s and a few Silverados in that range and I've also been looking at Dakotas.

I drive about 10K miles a year, alot of which is just a 6 mile commute to work, and I like the idea of the storage in the back of a pickup, but I would be doing too much towing or anything like that.

If I get a fullsize, would a V6 be too underpowered? I don't really want a giant V8 (gas prices are pretty nuts!) but would a smaller V8 get decent mileage? What could I expect there? Have you had either good luck or a bad experience with the trucks i listed above?

I could really use some advice folks. Thanks!

as in my other 2 posts my car wont start its an automatic , theres no clicking or anything i replaced the starter and i got a replacment relay switch but havnt put it in due to the fact that i found out there is sumthin u gotta do with fuzes and then wait 30mins so the airbags dont pop, then i found out theres somekind of tiny bolts that are made to break apart in the steering colume, what the heck??? and last and least theres a special nut on the steering wheel that has to be broken to take the wheel off and finding another one is a pain ive hear u dont need to take the wheel off this model but idk screw all that i wanna hard wire connections directly from the starter thru the firewall and make a button turn onfor the starter, i tryed but nothing happend it is good tho i knoi tested it at autozone, they had more wires hooked to it tho i have only 2 wires on it, some1 said theres a neutral safty switch that tells the tranny its in park and to go ahead and start? any one kno about it?

I can buy a 96 Sebring for 1200, or 1600 and they'll fix the wheel bearing before I pick it up. It has 142000 miles.

There is a 300M for 1600, all new belts, serpentine pulley, but it needs brake boosters and rotors. 184000 miles.

I mean for what you get the automobile is the worst investment you can make as far as a purchase. Is there any other product that goes down in value the second you leave the parking lot?

A year ago I replaced a front wheel bearing. Then I replaced the other side front wheel bearing this month. Last month I had a bushing put in because the axle coming from the right side of the tranny to the wheel was loose. Now this morning I was going about 60 mph and there was a loud popping noise, almost sounded like a spring being hit, 6-8 times over 4-5 minutes. I could feel it in the floor of the car. It felt like it was under the driver side front. Any ideas? About ready to haul the dumb thing to the junk yard. Thanks for any help!

I've been raised around big rigs about half my life and I love 'em. I wanna build a mac from the ground up. I don't know what year and model of a truck I wanna build, but I just know I want a sleeper on it and big enough to have a big engine in it and have enough room to fit a ton of aftermarket parts and a duel exhaust.. I wanna use it as a sled puller type of truck. With tons of power.
I guess my question is does anyone have any good ideas on what year and model of a mac I should get? Or point me in the right direction to get started? Like a website or some books...
The reason I wanna get a mac is cause I wanna name it "Big Mac". No not cause of the McDonnalds cheese burger the big mac, but cause the mac truck is gonna be ofcourse big in size and have a ton of power. This isn't gonna be a build quick type of truck. I'll be building it over several years since I don't have a ton of money right now to spend on it. Any help would be great.
