I can buy a 96 Sebring for 1200, or 1600 and they'll fix the wheel bearing before I pick it up. It has 142000 miles.

There is a 300M for 1600, all new belts, serpentine pulley, but it needs brake boosters and rotors. 184000 miles.

You cannot damage the spindle on your front wheel drive car. The hub / wheel bearing is secured on the inside of the spindle with three metric bolts the half shaft has to be removed before the wheel bearing is either pushed inward or pulled inwards from inside the spindle. Your spindle has no snout on the end thus no outer wheel bearings. The whole job done by an independent will cost less than $250. Price around to see who has the best deal.

sure it's not more than the bearing...spindle could be bad...that happens when a bad bearing is not fixed in a short time
