Hi. When I'm driving at slow speeds I can faintly hear a squeaking noise from what seems to be coming for my left front tire. It annoys and worries me because I can hear it. It is not loud, but you will notice it after a while, especially if you're the one driving it. I physically inspected the tire and the screws and they look fine. I don't know what is causing it to squeak. At high speeds, the squeaking noise disappears. Oh and I don't get the squeaking noise when I brake. It is when I am in motion. What could be the problem?

I've seen plates around, and I've noticed that newer cars have the higher numbers infront like a 5. Older cars have a 3 or 4. Trucks have 6 or 7s. Is it just me? or is there something to this?

Does anyone have a 96-98 dodge neon SOHC, AT parts car? If so I need the main engine wiring harness; I cant seem to find one anywhere. I have looked on eBay and such and the local scrap yards don't have one. I am getting pretty desperate. Thanks!!

I know tail fins went out with the batmobile; but was there any attempt to actually make them functional (like an airplane rudder) to try to improve handling?

I know small wheels on a car look dorky; but do they really make a difference in performance or handling (other than ground clearance). Assuming same with and profile, would a 12" rim really be a disadvantage over a 15"?

I just bought a manual transmission car and I got 1 hour lesson from a driving school just to understand the basics. The instructor said when in first gear, I have to release the clutch slowly and apply gas at the same time to keep the rev constant. However when changing from 1st to 2nd or 2nd to 3rd, he said to release the clutch slowly all the way and THEN apply the gas...is this true? After doing some reading, it seems whenever you need to shift, you should release the clutch and apply some gas at the same time.

Also, how do you rev match? How do you know what the rev should be compared to how fast you're going?

I'm currently driving a 1999 Pontiac Sunfire which is literally falling apart.

The next car I purchase needs to be something affordable, hopefully somewhat fuel-efficient, and preferably not a death-trap. I'm a single, 20-year-old woman with no plans on having children any time soon. I'm planning on becoming a teacher, so the money may be an issue. I'm kind of a hippie/environmentalist, so I'd prefer not to get some giant gas-guzzler.

Any (serious) suggestions are greatly appreciated.

I want to buy a car alarm for my Smart Car but I don’t know which one would be suitable as Smart cars have an inbuilt immobilizer and the doors only open with the remote. Would an alarm system affect the inbuilt immobilizer and the central locking?
Does it worth paying £150 – 200 for a Toad ,Clifford or Viper alarm system or a cheaper alternative would be suitable?
Thanks.

Hi,

I've received on mail a parking ticket from the Italian police for something they claim happened a year ago. (I live outside of Europe) In the ticket the car plate is mentioned correctly, but
the type of car isn't. I've rented LANCIA and they written FIAT.
I wonder if it is a case to appeal? They say that if I appeal and "loose" I'll pay a nee fee which will be at least 2x. (Currently is stands on ~80euro!!!) The other option they
mention is to appeal to their court. If I'll loose there I'll have to pay their taxes/fees...

So I kinda don't know what to do...
I do have a document from the caqr rent mentioning the type of car, they actually can check it also in their computer probably.
They could just made a mistake writing down the plate number for some FIAT and got to me. And is it valid at all a year after?

Thanks!
