The tanks of WW 1 showed poor performance
when steering due to the inherent clumsiness of their simple differential brake setup.
In the mid- 1920 s Cleveland tractor came up with a much more efficient drive and steering system, employing double differentials.
The company called it the 'CLETRAC ' and the patents were issued to Cleveland Tractor.
Still, I assume that one single inventor is possibly the fulcrum of this corporate development.
does anybody have a clue as to this man's name
and - given he was an immigrant - his nationality?

Why don't car manufacturers quote CO2 emissions for cars on American websites? Al Gore states that the USA is worse than China and India for emissions.

Sometimes gas prices seem to follow crude oil and sometimes they don't. Right now crude oil is at a 20 month low at $52/bbl dropping $10 in just a few days despite OPEC's announcement that it will be cutting production. But gas prices have not yet followed suit. Is a drop imminent? Are we going to see the blue sky $2/gallon again ?

Hello, I am currently learning to drive and have my test in 2 weeks. I want to do some driving outside of my lessons but can not get insured on our car as it is a fleet car.
I have been informend that i can drive on private land with no insurance but i do not know how to go about finding where in my area (luton, bedfordshire) private land is.
I have a few industrial estates around me and an airport. Are these private or does anyone know of a website where i can search for private land??

My car was parked outside B&Q which is a free car park in a disabilty space. On return to my car I had been issued with a £60 fine for not displaying badge. As it was a very windy day it had blown onto the floor as I got out off the car unnoticed. Is this legal as the car park is free anyway and how can they justify the £60 fee.
Any advice would be gratefully appreciated.

Hello. This question is directed specifically to female mechanics both as trainee & qualified alike. My friends 16 year old girlfriend is a trainee mechanic at a college and is in her first full year. Her tutors keep telling her she 'can't lift this' or 'can't lift that' because 'she is a girl and not strong enough because she isn't a bloke.'If it isn't enough that the tutors treat her this way,she also has to contend with being tormented by other lads about wanting to be a mechanic. It has now reached the point where she wants to quit her college career. My questions to other female mechanics are thus.1.Did you have any discrimination by the college tutors in any area of your training? If so,how did you deal with it and what were the results?2.How did you deal with the tormenting by the lads on the same course?I'll pass your answers on.She really DOES want to be a mechanic.I believe all this has now got her down so much so that she doesn't want to be there any more.Thank you,Alan L

I finally am going to get my 89 Camaro I have been waiting for at the dealership today. The only problem is I live in Missouri and we are kinda in the middle of a snow/ice storm. The roads are a little slick and I know Camaros don't do very well in the snow, luckly the dealer ship is just 3 miles away, so all I need is a little driving tips for driving it home. And what should I do if I fish tail?
