5 Years ago I sold my Harley Classic after15 years. (regretful circumstances). Now I am in a position to get a replacement. I am going on 65 but am in great shape. I *was* a bicycle rider in the past.
There is *nothing* like a HOG! Indescribable feeling just to be able to say "yep, I ride a Harley".
Could I replace the HOG with a bike and live with myself?

If people think God rides a Harley, than thats ok they have their faith. However, if you believe in evolution, does this mean that in comparative terms, that the design of the Harley is still swinging in the tree's with the apes, while the rest of the world has moved on?

THIS Q IS FOR THE HARLEY GANGSTA:
I was curious. If I ask too many questions, will a gangster type harley crowd invade my neighborhood? (like it has) Can I sue HD for PTSD associated with the coke infested gang that led to my mother's death? why do I yell out loud all by myself when a harley goes by my place with middle finger raised ready to fight the fat retarded slob on the bike to death? Will I get any answers above the mentality of a monkey? Can I get an excuse by law for the decibals? Can I get an excuse for engineering of an out of balanced engine, designed just for the bad decibals? Should I just stop asking questions and fantasize God Allmighty is cursing every one of you aholes for torture and meek mind raping manipulation and avoid a by chance oppurtunity to go blind and try and kill one of you mother*ckers and spend the rest of my life in jail on brain medication?

I have noticed many times that riders will say they learned new skills and a greater sense of awareness from riding a motorcycle and are now better automobile drivers because of it.
Is this true for you?
If so, did you take a Driver's Ed class to obtain your license?

I have heard that you may have to re-bore it or do adjustments? Is this true or could I get away with not doing it.

I have 1974 Cb550 honda. The Oil filter bolt is stripped very badly
and won't come off! Do you know any techniques that will get it off? I can't afford really expensive tools but I do have a craftsman mechanics wrench set. The bolt is too big for 10mm (which is what I think it once was) and too small for 11mm.

I have a 1974 Honda CB 550. I start the bike giving it a little steady gas. As soon as ease up off the gas the bike stops.

This also happens when I pull in the clutch say to go from 1st to 2nd. (If I don't give it a good amount of gas in between)

What's wrong? I really want to fix it myself and I'm not shure what to do.

Thanks.

Ed

I see a lot of posts on here suggesting that sport bike riders are all young punks.... that they probably have little experience...... and that older more mature riders have "graduated" to a Harley-Davidson.... because they have so much more experience. I see more punks wearin' WCC & OCC T's than I do sport bike T's. So my question is.... what do you ride personally and how old are you? Let's find out! Crotch rocket rider here for over 30 years....... 51 years old this month.

I rode into work today, it was 37 degrees when I left my house (its a 45 min ride) it was 52 when I got in.
Everyone I work with thinks Im nuts... am I?
90% of the people I work with have motorcycles and ride, however, I am the only person to have ridden in so far this year.

what do you think?

They say all Harleys do is leak oil and parts fall off. Obviously they are nieve. I've been ridin Harleys for 30 years. Back in the day, having to work on them was part of the deal. At least I knew my bikes inside and out and would not have to leave it on the side of the road like I see with non Harleys all the time.

I've owned new Harleys since 1995 and have never had problems with them as the nieve people would think?

Just asking

This is making me crazy. There is a metalic ticking sound coming from the top end camshaft area.. But the weird thing is that it goes away after it gets hot. And some days it doesn't do it at all. It also varies in volume from a clacking to a clicking to a ticking. I have had mechanics check it over, have replaced all 16 valves, and still it comes and goes. It doesn't seem to affect the performance, but with all the money I've thrown at it, it makes me crazy. Has anyone had this experience? Got any ideas? Perhaps a defoamer hydraulic lifter thing? Have tried many viscosities of oil, always keep it fresh, etc. I bought and restored this bike nine years ago and it is definitly my baby. Don't want to give it up. Help!

I recently sold my 1990 Kawasaki Ninja 250. Now the guy I sold it to is claiming it is not street legal. I don't really know a lot about bikes so please forgive my untechnical terms. The front plastic fender? piece that keeps dirt, rocks, etc. from coming off is broken pretty much off. He is now saying that this makes my bike not street legal. He is also saying that it is illegal for me to sell him a vehicle that is not street legal.

I never claimed it was street legal or that it would even last 5 mins not to mention that a broken piece like that is pretty obvious at the time of sale. So does this really make my bike not legal for the streets? Please help!
