Hi, does anyone know if a UK CBT is valid in Europe at all, specifically France, Germany, Holland and Austria, my friend want to ride his 125cc bike over their and wants to know if he can on just his CBT or can he ride a 125 bike anyway because he has a full car licence?

He should have a european driving licence so it should cover him but you will need to check out all countries he is going to for laws about age and size of bike allowed and on what roads

get him to check his insurance, if hes been quoted for domestic use. thats to work and back with a limit on 6000 miles per year and gets pranged in europe he wont be covered. a cbt is only needed for britain. if he had a full bike license and insurance he'd be ok. but with 125 beginners insurance is a big drawback for travelling abroad. he needs to plan his route and check out the local licensing laws for each country and get the appropiate cover from his insurance company. but honestly i doubt they will cover him.

No. you need full license for the vehicle group to drive overseas.
