I was at Pep Boys and saw them there but have been unable to find any info on them. Can anyone tell me if they have had luck with theirs. They are also listed as Panterra SC-50 Motorscooter?

One of the reasons I bought a Harley (other than the fact that I look really cool on it) is because of its resale value. Everyone has always told me that its an investment and that I'd be able to get my money back on it if I sold it. I've been checking all the bikes for sale lately, and it turns out that the market price for my same bike is about $6,000 less than what I paid for it a year ago. Not only that, but I added loud pipes, juiced up the motor and added a few other accessories to the tune of another $5,000. So, if I sold it today, I'd get $11,000 less than what I paid. Had I bought a Japanese bike for, say, $8,000 a year ago, I could probably sell it for $5,000 today. Anyone else have a good "investment" story?

I would be driving to work , that is like 5-6 miles from home...

Not a dirtbike, a cruiser look preferred over scooter.
I m not really looking at a powerhorse.. that delivers 200mph when i may travel at a max speed of 60mph

No reactive answers here, I'm serious: when growing up, I remember there was this tough, cool image to Harley bike riders. But this day and age, it seems like not only are there Harley Davidson stores everywhere, but Harley riders all over the place when you're on the road.

I'm not knocking it: some of my good neighbors have been Harley enthusiasts. I'm just asking if the whole Harley Davidson phenomenom has become somewhat oversaturated and, I dunno, cliche, for lack of a better word. When I was growing up, the bikes and the riders were kindof rare, and there was a cool mystique to it all. And now? It's just an overly common sight.

Thoughts? I'm not looking for angry replies here, just some thoughtful comments.

Ok Ive been getting blasted by everyone because im a new rider and i want a 600 gsxr, If i stay off the highways and just cruise in parking lots and around town for the first year whats the big no no in that as long as i dont act stupid with the dam thing, The first and only bike i have ever rode was a 97 ninja zx <==(i think, it was a 600 ninja bike though) 600. Yeah it was scary, yea its a mean sob if you give it too much gas, but that fucer scared me enough to respect it and i didnt even get above 35. Im quite aware that im not aware of what they can do and i dont have any intrest in fully finding out anytime too soon, but the rest of the smaller bikes look like as* so why cant i just get a 6 and take it easy, you know 2 miles an hour so everybody sees me and slowly work my way up the ladder, I am pretty sure a 500 or even a 250 has more than enough to kill a stupid person that just cranks it as soon as they start out, what dif does 170 mph make to 125 if your slidin on the ground??

i had a leak on the intake manifold of my sportster. before i put the manifold back on i would like to smooth out the rough surface caused by casting on the inside of the intake. was wondering if anyone has experience in this area and if it has much improvement for air flow and performance. thanks.

I am considering the purchase of a 2002 H-D FXD from a private seller. It is in great shape and has less than 4,000 miles on it. The seller let me test ride it. It was difficult to downshift from 3rd to neutral. It was not impossible, but it took noticeably more effort to shift. Since I am not a seasoned Harley rider, yet, I am not sure if this is typical or if there is a serious problem. Any advise?

What kind of ride ? What year? Did you rebuild her or what did you do to customize her? Most importantly is she still the best you've ever owned?

What does it matter. Bikes are a preference for the most part.. I have read a lot of questions on this site were people are nocking down Harley's nocking down Hondas ect. .. This is all Bull crap!!!!

When are you people going to learn that what people ride, is a preference or it is what they could afford at the time...

This site is more of a joke than anything, who cares what you ride as long as you are riding...

You get on here and all you see is a lot of Bull SH@T. Why not ask some real questions...

And as for all of the Harley slams I see, and there seems to be more of them than any. Just like were you read about the guy being a show off or acting like a hard *** because he rides a Harley.
As any one of you priced some of these metric cruisers lately??? They are around the same PRICE anymore!!! And I see and hear a lot more of these metric cruisers with LOUD PIPES... Does that make them wanna a be's, HELL NO. It's probally what they like!!!
