I'd kill to be 5'6. Then I could ride any damned thing!

There are some drawbacks.
Most sports bikes will have you on your toes when at a stop. I guess you have never ridden a motorcycle. You should have both feet flat on the ground when at a stop. I had a Honda CBR 600 F2 and was able to have the balls of my feet on the ground. If you are on a road that is crowned (middle is higher than the sides) and you need to come to a stop, you want to lean on the high side, or you will fall, like I did when trying to put your foot down on the low side.
Some will have a seat height too high, i.e. you cannot have both feet down at the same time. You don't want to buy those bikes.

I'm a 5'5" woman, and I can ride any bike I want. You didn't indicate if you had short legs. That changes things.
Also, do you have any experience? That makes a difference too. As long as you can get the balls of your feet on the ground you're fine. Weight isn't really an issue unless you're too weak to hold the bike up.

5'6'' is fine... unless if u plan on riding a Kawasaki KLR650, the seat is very tall. With your low weight, your motorcycle will have less to carry around, so it should be able to perform better. The only drawback to lightweight people on motorcycle is that they can get blown around by strong winds, but this wont be a problem if the motorcycle isnt too light.

Drawback such as what?
Do you think you are too short? Many bikes are low enough for women to ride, Are you too light? That will only allow you to go faster. Have fun

My friend is about 5"7 125, he rides a Honda 599 with no problem, it should actually make is easier for you. I'm 6'4 and I have a hard time shifting sometimes. Anyway, you'll be just fine, don't think about it, just go have fun.

They come in all sizes. And when you find what you like, it's not hard to make it fit.
