I have a 1987 VS 700 Intruder with 34,000 miles on it. I had a 1999 VL 1500 Intruder and it was totaled out from under me. I replaced it with a 2003 VL 1500 and have loved both of them (actually all 3). The current riders, the '03 has just over 18,000 miles on it now. I have driven it from Santa Fe, NM to San Diego, CA and back. Also to Prescott, Canyon City, CO, and many other places! I have found both the 1999 and the 2003 to be virtually maintenance free! Just regular oil changes, tires and occasional brake pad replacements are all I have ever done. I did put aftermarket pipes and a K&N air filter on the 2003 and got a noticable improvement in performance and gas mileage. It was about 33 highway before and 42 highway after!

I have ridden Yamaha 1600 Road Stars, Harleys, BMWs and Hondas, not to mention the odd Triumph and BSA. With the exception of the BMW K1200LT, the Suzuki Intruder is the most comfortable motorcycle I have ever owned or driven. I also have driven dirt bikes and have a 1979 Yamaha 650 Special which I am restoring, but that's a different animal!!!!!!

I own a 2005 Suzuki M50 ( comparable engine because of the fact the C50 ) and this bike has been a nightmare with issues on account that i owned it. The prolonged guarantee is valueless reason I nonetheless had to pay for each restoration, I even had to pay for a keep in mind and the bike nonetheless runs like a POS! It wobbles previous 60 mph, new tires did no longer help, it backfires, blows black smoke from the exhaust, its heavy and underpowered. I quite have a chum that owns a 2004 Yamaha V massive call 1100 and he in no way had a unmarried situation with it, and he can pass my Suzuki like i'm status nonetheless. The Suzuki C90 is an previous college layout, its heavy and intensely plenty underpowered, AND Suzuki has the worst, lowest, scum-bag broking community. in case you opt for for carrier after the sale, get a Yamaha, or a Honda!
