The experts say it's because the refineries are switching fron producing heating oil to making more gas, and that we are using more gasoline than they can produce. That the gas prices won't level off untill after Labor Day.

I do not understand gas prices? I do not understand how people can stand by and keep paying these prices? The American people who live average lives cannot afford to work, pay child care and expect to pay upwards of $50 dollars or more a week in gas! I have started working from home which allows me to not have to drive, so we only fill up one vehicle each week while the other sits. Thats ok with me, but how are people making it who cannot do this?

I know Hurricana Katrina destroyed some reserves, but hasn't enough time gone by to reinvigorate the supply? Why haven't prices gone back down to like they were before to about $1.20?

how would you get the public notify and get every one involve . also let the public know how much the gas co. will lose if this is done. this should be done at lease once every week untill the gas prices come down below $2.00 a gal.

Its the only way people will ever slow down on their gas use. However, I think prices will have to go up to 8 or 9 dollars before that happens.

I try to drive 5 to 10 mph. lower then the posted speed. So far I saved about $25 a week and still get to where I need to go. Over a month that is a tank of gas.

Gas prices are way up and I run errands all day at work for the company. He pays me .40 per mile. I would think that as high as the gas prices are now, it should be more...
Can anyone give me the official website which tells the mileage compensation I should be getting...
Thanks in advance!!

Did they magically drop like they supposedly did in 1997 (urban legend)?

Or did they go up as I predicted in some of my earlier responses to the protest, because the oil companies knew people would have to buy gas today after skipping yesterday?

We would FORCE "them" to store it in THEIR tanks at the stations, lowering the price: Supply and Demand (less of it).

I suppose the networks have to do what the oil co.'s say to keep the avd. but the price of gas will not go down as long as the public appears to accept it.

Does staying at home drive you insane? Seriously tv, games and this computer does not do it for me anymore. Already loitered WalMart and the mall. Seriously considering taking up a second job.

Not buying gas for a day is not going to do anything, besides, people have to go to work. Maybe if nobody bought gas for years it would change things, but not buying gas for one day is the dumbest idea ever, agree?
