I use to ride my motorcycle maybe once or twice a week to work but with gas prices so expensive im riding it almost everyday to work. Gas in California is like $3.52 a gallon.

I ride an electric assist bicycle back and forth to work, and for some errands. I don't break the sound barrier, but I pass gas stations! It's more fun than a car, and easier to park.

I optimize my trips to run errands, keep the tires at the proper psi, NOT drag racing red light to red light like everyone else likes to do down here near Tampa. I live 6 miles away from work and mass transit and biking won't work due to safety and schedule differences. I will say that my pickup truck will last for about 2 - 2.5 weeks on a tank driving back and forth to work.... which is where I'm going now.

I would love to ride bicycle but unfortunately have to cross some major streets, however I use a compact car, try to combine going to library, grocery on the way back from work so that I need not make special trips, buy gas at ARCO or Costco. I would buy a hybrid if it was slightly cheaper.

Selling the gas guzzlers and buying fuel efficient vehicles that I can run on biofuels.

Also accelerating slower and keeping speeds down
Running a few PSI higher in the tires than normal
Keeping the A/C off
Turning the engine off at long lights
Drafting behind big trucks on the freeway
Taking extra weight out of the trunk and back seat

Wow! I thought the $3.03 in Massachusetts was bad! I have to say, I've limited my driving to driving to work and back, no going to visit friends or family as often. I try to get everything I need in one stop at the grocery store. No more road trips, Sunday drives, or random trips into town to get small items. Now I compile a list and go get everything in one whack. I live too far from town to walk or bicycle and I don't own a moped or motorcycle.

I started taking the bus to go to work, it takes about 15 minutes more one way than drive, but save a lot of money that way.

Also, when I go for grocery shopping, I use my bike, I can exercise and save gas money too.

my school is only 2 miles away and my job is also 2 miles away. so it doesnt bother me. gas price is around 3.10. but if you have to travel at least 5 days a week then get a bus pass. it would really help. you would save a lot of money. but i think bike gives you a lot of miles too. not really sure.

anyway i hope it helps.

As I am also urging others to do, I am staying home Memorial Day Weekend. I won't give extra profits to the oil companies by doing extra travel. I'm also researching alternatives that can be used now and intend to be using one of them very soon. Oil should be obsolete by now anyway.

we try to make one trip toe everywhere we need to go in the week and make sure nothing is out of the way like if we are visiting someone and there are bills down there to be paid or something we do everything while we are in the area!
