#32 says that the EGR vale not seated; closed voltage low. i changed the EGR valve pressure transducer/ position sensor. what else could it be? MAP, the vacuum switch? the ecu would tell me if it was the transducer or position switch.

Do i need the EGR? if i disconect it, will it hurt my car or cause any drivability problems?

thanks you guys.

there are 2 ford focuses in the family, a 2000 and a 2001, both SE that are having the same strange problem. the 2 automatic rear windows on both cars are falling down. meaning if u park the car, turn it off, and go inside, the windows go down, and u can move them up and down from outside with ur hand. they feel very loose. its worse in rain or cold. all we've been able to do is use tape or try to wedge something in them. the dealership said a repair would be $400 per window.

What is causing this, and what can be done to fix the problem, or at least solve it. or at least something better than tape and a piece of cardboard to wedge in the glass.

My husband and I are 30 years old and trying to decide if it is in our best interest to take the buyout for $100,000. We know that Uncle Sam will definitely get his share, but we estimate that we will have approx. $70,000 left and plan to put 50% into clearing up some credit issues and the other 50% in our existing business in which he will be a full time employee w/health insurance and continue to pay his child support (he is current). Ford employees have rumors going around that Child support will be deducted from your buyout equal to 1 year of support even if you are current, as well as if you have cars financed through Ford Credit they will payoff the cars and deduct that from your buyout as well. If these rumors are true, it definitely changes our decision to take the buyout. Has anyone heard about this and it is true? If you answer tell me how you know

I took my 1995 Ford F150 to a large Ford dealership for a simple inspection. With the truck being in good condition I expected it to be a quick in-and-out job with no findings. What I got was a $800+ estimate to fix the upper and lower ball joints. I was shocked by this because I had seen no sign of ball joint problems. The tires were in great shape, and the front end felt solid. Being a little skeptical, I told the mechanic to go ahead and fail me and took the truck to another garage. The mechanic there took me into the garage and showed me that the joints were fine -- just as I suspected. He passed the inspection with no findings.

When I contacted the original dealership to complain, the service manager asked me to bring the truck back to have someone else look at it. I was surprised to have them confirm that the ball joints were indeed bad. What do ya'll think is going on here? Is it likely to have bad ball joints without any symptoms? Or was this an attempted hijacking?

I am stuck driving a nasty '06 rental Taurus while my '98 Accord is getting re-painted. I don't have the Owner's manual.

I need to find out how to turn off the daytime running lights while rolling through a security checkpoint. The only way I have found to turn them off is to apply the parking brake - but this is not possible when I need to shut them off.
