ive done this swap. the clutch assy works as well as the throwout bearing. everything else is correct and youll need to modify your shifter handle by nothing it low and bending it over and welding it, or cutting the hole bigger. i had to build a shift boot from the 2 as well. ps the srod can be repaired these days. parts are not from ford. i found them on ebay. when you do the swap. better throw 15 inch wheels and tires in the deal. the stock 14's wont hold you any longer. theyll just fry every time you throttle.
my advice is buy a wrecked doner late model 5.0 foxbody(my doner was an 88 gt with like 35,000 wrecked buy the second owner the day he bought it.$100 bucks)
the exhaust doesnt work as well unless you use the late model headers.(the mounting boss on the head is angled downwards just a lil more on the 79 or the exhaust manifolds, not sure)

Let's see.
Bellhousing, flywheel, clutch, clutch fork, throw-out bearing, tranny, tranny mount and crossmember (?), driveshaft, transmission speedo gear, clutch cable, quadrant, and pedal assembly (good luck with that, they don't make them, so off to the junkyard you go), and all the bolts, hardware, flywheel dowels, etc. Used you're looking at about $1200 (if you're lucky to find a pedal assembly). New, close to $1800.
