Does anyone else think the new 2009 Camaro somewhat of a rip off of the new Mustang and Charger.

The three of them all have really similar bodies, and the big flat grille at the end. I understand that they're trying to honor the '60's but the new Camaro is a real disapointment for me (and I'm a Camaro fan).

Camaros in the past 2 decades never had real grilles, just a vent for air intake, and sometimes scoops. The new grille looks like its straight from a Mustang, with a Chevy logo slapped on.

I am looking to buy a late 70's early 80's Corvette but I am seeing ads for Corvettes as well as Corvette Stingray. What's the difference between the two? And which one of the two would be better?

I recently replaced my cap, rotor, wires, and plugs. After wards my truck was running worse so i decided to check the timming. When I did the line on the balancer was pointing toward the water pump. And if I moved the distributer toward the carb it would move the line toward the degree marker but it was still way off,and would start to die. How can i change the timing and is this a common thing.

I purchased an 07 aveo 4 days ago and on Saturday while on I-85 the front wheel broke and is under the car. The dealer said I hit something in the roadway which is not true. I swerved to miss a car coming into my lane. The dealership said it was not covered by warranty and call my insurance. What is the best recourse?

What do you think?

I've got a 60 month, 60,000 mile powertrain warranty on my 2004 Chevy Aveo. I've only got 54,000 miles on it, and of course it's well under the 5 year mark. They said that the timing belt is broken and there's a problem with compression in two of the cylinders and that they're NOT covered by the powertrain warranty. The warranty information that I've pulled up states that the timing belt, cylinder heads, and all internal lubricated parts are covered. Since I haven't done anything to void the warranty, shouldn't this be covered? Why is the dealer being such a jerk? Does Chevrolet NOT reimburse the dealers for work done? Or is the dealer perhaps trying to get paid twice on the job - once by me, and once by Chevy?

What is an estimated price for a fuel pump?
- 1997 Chevy Cavalier
- Assuming this is the problem, I would need to know what the price is for the fuel pump, WITH the labor, or altogether, if I were to go in and get this done.

I can't seem to get a price from anyone. It seems to vary, widely, and I don't know if it's because they all come in different prices, from make/model to year???

Sorry, I have NO clue about vehicles, or the parts (cost)

Any help would be greatly appreciated! (Thanx)

I own a 1991 Caprice with a 5.0 engine the car starts quick and idols smooth even in sub 0 weather however, after the engine reaches full op. temp. and I start off from a dead stop or accelerate up hill the engine cuts in and out sharply. So far I have tried to fix the problem by replacing the T.P.S. sensor, the M.A.P. sensor, the distributor, the ignition module, the coil, the rotor, the cap, I have even replaced the main engine computer. I also replaced all wiring harnesses.also the fuel filter, and the fuel pump, and yet the problem persists! I cleaned the C.V.C. valve and checked and replaced all vacuum lines. This is driving me nuts and broke at the same time! There are no codes showing up on a scan. the cut off only seems to happen when the car is in closed loop. the car doesnt stall and runs fine at idle. The engine timing is set to factory specks the car only has 65,000 miles on is and uses no oil or overheats. any good ideas out there????????

Okay, we'll try this again. U-haul, Ryder, Penske and all those other commercial rental dealers wont do it because my vehicle is to big. I need someone I've never heard of before.

It also needs to be able to hold a 1/2 ton pick-up truck and be able to take it one way. Not having to bring it back to where I initially rented it. Also I lve in Oceanside, Ca so I would need to be able to find a place near there.

Like I mentioned, I have an '88 chevy silverado, and it is really getting bad on the rust. The rear fender wells are all rusted out, then cab corners and rocker panels are shot, and the front fenders are half way there. And all around the truck in little spots the paint has a spot of rust here and there. I've been told before that this model of truck or just around these years, that it is just the design of it that causes it. Is this true? Any input or info about this subject is greatly appreciated!! Thanks!!

I have a 1988 chevy caprice, and I have a hard time starting it. It runs fine when it starts, but after I shut it off, I can't get it started again. It turns over, but won't start. It floods up on me. I have to keep the pedal to the floor for about 30-45 minutes before it will start. What could be the problem? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks so much. Ps. I've been told it's my choke. Do you think it could be this, and if so, how could I get it fixed?

1984, has been sitting for 5 years. It seems the cotter pins that connect the transmission (rotating bar, I don't know what it is called) that con nects to the rear gearbox, visable from exterior...have been sheered, yet is still connected! I have not yet turned over the motor (as I am changing out fluids). It does not seem like the part is completely fractured, does anyone know if this is a fairly easily repairable procedure or will I have to change out the entire "linking rod"? I was given this workvan and the budget is only $500 to get it running, I have already sunk $122. Thanks for ideas...no smarty pants answers...I know it is junk, just seeing if I can reset the pins myself without towing it to a garage.

I drive about an hour to school every morning (all highway). If I go over 80mph all the way there, the car will sputter/jerk when I come to a stop at the exit. If I get on the gas real hard when I take off from the exit (get the RPMs up), the sputtering is corrected. If I don't get the RPMs up, the sputtering continues and is evident in Park, Neutral, and Drive. Could this be a transmission solenoid even if it sputtering is occurring in Park and Neutral? The sputtering will not occur if I keep it under 80mph, but usually I am in a hurry to get to class. I am no expert on cars, but I believe it has something to do with the oil blowing up into the valves and causing them to stick leading to improper combustion. I feel that the increased RPMs upon hard acceleration from the stop frees the valves. Does my theory even make sense? I have tried fuel system cleaner and change the oil every 5 weeks/3,000miles. I have tried Lucas oil stabilizer. Besides this issue, the car runs great. Any ideas?

Overnight, my Pickup has lost GO power at take offs, it hesitates and does so even if I have the accelerator floored.

Once on the freeway/speeds, it feels just fine to problem-runs great.

I first thought it might be the TORQE converter. was not
Then i got TWO different COMPUTER DIAGNOSTICS- nothing found!

Checked: timming, EGR, Cap/Rotor/plugs/wires, Fuel filter, all wires top to bottom, O2 sensor, Cat-converter, transmission flushed, checked almost everything.

It's a 305 5.0 L V8, Auto, TBI-throttle body injection. i think my fuel pump might be the problem, or throtle position sensor? i don't what else to think, i will return to my mechanic on thursday... any opinions or knowledge would be nice thanks people.

Pleas feel free to ask me questions, i will be checking and answer at "Add details"

The 235 Chevy engine has its engine mounts in the centre of the block and is connected to a powerglide tranny. The engine I wish to use is a 235 which was once connected to a 3 speed manual. But, the engine mounts are at the very front lower area of the block. The book says it must be from 1949-1952. Can I use this motor? Will there be too much strain as the mounts are at the very front of the engine and the pwerglide being heavy? DO i need to find an engine with the mounts in the same place as the original (centre of block) as its a powerglide tranny. Help!
