I don't get it. The monte carlo SS is FWD for some reason, and I wanted to know if the Impala SS was too.

NO the 2007 is not rear wheel drive, I have a 07 Impala SS and it is the best car i have ever owned, I traded in my 06 lease and bought a brand new one. My 06 had about 36000 miles on it and had NO problems. The only thing was the MPG, it is rated high, but if your in the city, you will notice that the MPG are much lower then they state they are.

Enjoy

Yes it is a FWD Car regardless. and to /JOe Ford NEVER built anything but a RWD in a fullsize (Crown Vic) car. What they are kicking themselves in the *** for is the lack of style their cars have, BUT if the new Interceptor (mustang based midsized) sees production that will quickly change.

no.....the monte and impala are identical structures... both FWD .. just one is a two door , the other 4 door... you may have noticed, the hood and fenders are also identical...built from the same robots on the same line....

Unfortunately they are front wheel drive, even though it has a V8 option now.

HOWEVER!!!

GM -along with FORD is kicking themselves in the ****! as they watch Daimler-Chrysler double fist bucks on their 300m, Charger, Magnum, and soon Challenger...

GM and FORD is said to be getting on the ball with the return-and-or-reup of their FULL size, V8 powered, rear wheel drive sedans and coupes slated by 2009, late but im a Loyal Gm luver and i can't wait to see what they offer!
world hold on!

Best wishes, look for "spied photos" on all major auto magazines, like motor trend, caranddriver, and so on.

I know that, Keith C, that is why i said "REUP", meaning maybe FORD can get some decent attention with their NEW plans on a NEW full size rear drive platform...as it stood the Ford 500 sedan was going to replace the the Crown Vic but FORD now knows, they best keep a good thing comming and not kill it off like GM did.-
Respect- just my two cents. "/JOe
