If it were the fuel/pump, it would not run at all.It just may be the screen at the pump that is dirty and needs to be replaced. The fuel pump is located in the gas tank.At idle, it needs very little gas to run, at higher engine rpm's it needs more gas and is 'starving' for it and so it stalls. The screen is like a fuel filter and is like a screen attached to the pump. The screen is cheap (maybe $15), but the labor for the tank to be dropped and replaced will be the expensive part.It should take no more than two hours of labor.

Try replacing the 02 sensor. Had an 87 Buick LeSabre and it would stall when doing 65 on the highway.

Otherwise bring it into the shop and have them run it on the computer. It should give you diagnostic codes as to what's wrong.

Did you alter the gas cap, you are able to desire a vented cap. Non vent caps will reason a vaper lock. examine the gas filter out, some trucks has 2 filter out s, an in line filter out and a show screen filter out on the carb.
