Going through alternators too quick. stereo system pulling alot of amps. volume goes up....volt gauge goes down.....what do i need to add? isolator? need solid advise...not guesses please.

maybe , it is a red.

i ripped a cd the other day and i was listening to it on my way home....the next morning i cranked my car and the display said cd error....so naturally i tried to eject it...however when i push eject i only hear what sounds like gears slipping.....i cant play the cd or anything.....then last night the cd just starts playing and i was able to eject it.....so thinking it was a fluke i put it back in and was listening to it, i stopped at a store and when i returned and cranked the car it wouldnt play the cd again.....this morning it is fine....anyone have a clue as to whether this is a cd problem or a player problem?....btw my warranty expired 8K miles ago...go figure!

Im thinking about purchasing 2 Fosgate T212D4s and 2 Alpine PDX 1.1000... will i need caps? should i get a High output alternator? if ya have any ideas on subs and amps let me know i want something to HIT HARD!! ( but for daily use ;) )

the head unit has one rca output, I have three amps in the rear. I went and bought a 120V A/C video/audio 5-way splitter and put one of them cigerette lighters in that are DC to AC converters which only put enough juice out to power up a cell phone.
It barely works though probly becuase of the lack of juice going to the splitter. how can I get the one set of RCA(1red 1 white) to plug into three amps(3red 3white)??

i am working on building a system in an escort for competition. i am looking at two dual voice coil 2 ohms per coil cerwin vega strokers and a hifonics colossus amp which is 1600x2 at 1 ohm per channel. what kind of power system would be best suited for this setup? would anyone know around how many db's this would produce? i'm looking for over 160. thanks for any help.

I can't put an after market head unit in the car because of the dash, so first does anyone know if there are preouts in the factory stereo head unit. Secondly, if there are, it mentions in the manual about "subwoofer - if equipped" and tells about how the loudness can be controlled from the head unit, but is that for only 'honda installed options' or can i simply plug my stuff in and the car will recognize a sub and control it from there? Any information will be helpful. Thanks.

looking to add a set up to a 01 jeep grand cherokee limited and was curious if anyone had any input on a good system. I was looking at a 12 inch solox or 2 12 inch l7's but wasn't sure which would be the best bet. If i had the right amplifer for the sub woofers and the right box with adequate cubic inches. any comments would help thanks.

Im splicing my 8 gauge grounds from my amp. and my cap. into 1 4 gauge wire using a RF splicing block. Is that big enough wire? Also any advice on great sound in my 1999 Jeep Cheroke Sport would be helpful. I have 2 1200w 12" Sony X-plodes,and a1000w Sony amp.Thanks.

Ok, Well a few months ago i asked proabably the same question. I want to but a speaker box in my truck of my 04' Oldsmobile Alero with 2 of those Sony Explode Subwoofers...? is that right? also Do i need an amp? if so i need some specifics... I would like to purchase most of this at wal-mart... also do i need to replace the speakers in the front doors and back seat? I just got some 2 Memphis 12 inch subs (PR12D4) and the rms rating is 200 watts and they are DVC so if i am right i can run them at 2 ohms or 4 ohms but I just want to know what would be the best subs to push them!!!

I've never really shopped around for a car alarm before, but my factory key fob broke and the alarm is outdated, I want to get one with 2 way paging. I've seen pretty decent looking ones on E-bay like autopage, just looking for any recommendations what might be the best alarm I can find for about $100 (either in person or online, ebay, etc)

I don't need anything too fancy, mainly just a well functioning 2 way pager, ignition kill, and I'd like it to be compatible with a 2 stage proximity sensor and pain siren if I decide to add those in the future. (I'd like to have the option to make the proximity sensor chirp only, and not actually set off the alarm)

One other thing that would be very nice is if I can choose between different siren tones rather than one genaric one.

Any suggestions?
