i have a mtx 5512 dvc12". it have a nominal power of 300 watts rmsbut still can i power it till 400rms or more,if some body uses this or had used this or ne body who kno about this brand plz tell me.

i know the mtx subwoofers are known to be able to be over powered and not blow i know people who run 2500 rms on a 1000 rms sub and they sub runs just fine but with a 5500 i don`t know i woiuld imagine it would be okay a 400-550 rms but just be carful when u crank up the volume

no i had 2 5500 on a 1500 watt amp it was all the way dwon and it blew them to pieces so it was 750 rms

Usually you can exceed the RMS rating a little bit, but I wouldn't push it too much. Afterall, the rating is there for a reason.

you need to match your ohms on the sub with the amp. and how many subs did you buy? if you only bought one and its 2 ohms, go for a mono channel to get the best kick out of that sub. fyi the less ohms, the better.

normally subs are underrated so as long as your nice 2 the sub you can power it 2 500rms

you can, but it might ruin the sub. i dont recommend it
