I want to buy a new car, but when I look at the price of the car at the dealership, they add on a bunch of junk I don't want. Things like body undercoating, mud flaps, accent strips, paint sealent....

I either don't want these things, or will get them myself later on. but the dealer has already done these things, so I've got to hagle with him to get them deducted. I just want the car without the stuff, and without the hagling.

I can't seem to locate my title to my car, thought I had it but it seems to have gone missing.
If this guy who is looking at my car tomorrow wants to take it (which I am sure he is going to, says he's brining cash with him) so do I have to give it to him or can I do all this through the DMV? I have all the registration info and everything...
I know on their website i can do the "Notice of Transfer and Release of Liability" but the whole process really seems to confuse
can anyone help??? I've never done this before. thank you!!!

What do we do? We bought a '97 Jeep two days ago. We had it checked by a mechanic before buying it and knew we would have to fix some things, but it seems the mechanic found something new that could result in being a lot more than we were planning. Is there some kind of buyer's regret Law where we can take it back to the dealer within three or seven days?? If so how does that work and what should we do. We're in Utah. HELP!!

I just rented a Pontiac G6 for a company meeting and I really liked it. My current vehicle is pretty undesirable, especially compared to a new vehicle. Is it reasonable to lease a vehicle for a few years and then reassess whether to lease again or try to buy a vehicle. How much can I expect to pay monthly for a new or fairly new (2005-2007) vehicle and how much can I expect to pay monthly to lease a 2005-2007 vehicle? Let's assume that the Pontiac G6 is my first choice and that it's priced around $20,000. Thanks!

We all know about the African scam - viz we have 6 zillion pounds we would like to give you - but there is another African scam that can catch the best of us.

Imagine the ash tray is full in your Jaguar car and so you decide to sell. You put an add in the paper ‘Jag for sale 20K’ and sure enough the next day two black fellas come to see the car. After kicking the tires they yes they will buy the car and give you a cheque in the sum of 20K.

They don't expect to drive the car away as they have to organise insurance etc and in any event they insist that you wait until the cheque is cleared and the funds are in your account before you hand over the keys.

Sure enough, 10 days or so later, your bank confirms that the cheque has cleared OK and the funds are now in your account.

The black fellas turn up, you hand over the keys and the registration documents and they smile and drive away.

Before you can say ‘ouch’ the car is on its way to Africa in a container.

Now comes the sting. Cheques drawn on an overseas account can be cancelled up to one month afer they are issued and so our two black friends simply cancel the cheque - the bank takes the 20K from your account (and yes they can do this under the law) and you have now lost your car and the cash.

You have been warned.

The car is 5 years old with 200+K miles. The motor just died and a new one cost more than the cars worth.
