Hi , Can anyone from Saltcoats tell me whatever happened to all the boats in the harbour. There were 3 or 4 clinker built varnished boats that did around the bay trips, here was the Spindrift which also delivered the sunday papers to Arran, Diana and Elsie I'm sure there was a fourth. there was a boat called PEPE.
I as a kid went fishing in a boat called the catchalot and then the guy bought a bigger boat painted black called the sea urchin I think the Skippers name was Jack.

Does the Isle of man boat sail from Ardrossan?

Re Largs, Where have the day fishing boats and small motor or rowing boats u could hire all gone? What happened to Nardini's ?

* Napoli is a huge modern ship, provided with modern navigational equipments.
* The use of cheaper, non qualified navigators (by experience only) for economic reasons, might be the cause of grounding her.
So it is economic for short term, But costly for along term after the accident!. I wish the managements of all shipping companies be aware of that.
* I believe the only cause of the incident was the incompetency of the duti navigator, Who failed to take the ship's position more frequently than usual(15 or 20 minutes) & it could be necessary to br taken every 2 minutes or less in that situation of heavy trafficed, zoned area in heavy weather & with consideration to the size of the ship, which can be easily affected by the weather!
As by that the course of the ship could be corrected frequently & accordingly.
* I never accept that the cause was the heavy weather.

The agent has done nothing. It is moored south west England. It is out of the water for the winter and easy to view. Beautiful class boat belonging to a friend who just can't afford to own it anymore. Any ideas? It has three cabins and is a graceful, beautiful boat

Please can you check out the above vessel; could this boat (or something similar) cross the Atlantic (UK-USA or vice-versa) as long as the crew knew what they were doing and were adequately supplied with food/ drink?

Or is this sort of boat totally unsuited to ocean crossing, and if so, why?

Thanks for your help!

i want to run a series of lights on one main wire around inside of hull, and i want it to be neat and tidy and water resistant. For two wires i would just solder and cover with heat shrink to insulate, but i dont think this would work with one wire in one end and two wires out the other end, the join would in a y configuation if that helps to explain

I was at Cabela's last weekend, and I bought a nice GPS/sonar system for my 1992 Sea Ray Bowrider. The salesman told me I had to mount the transceiver under the transom. I was wondering what would be the best way to do this, since the boat is out of the water now and when I get a warmer day I will try and install it. Any ideas? It has an inboard/outboard motor by the way.
