Hi , Can anyone from Saltcoats tell me whatever happened to all the boats in the harbour. There were 3 or 4 clinker built varnished boats that did around the bay trips, here was the Spindrift which also delivered the sunday papers to Arran, Diana and Elsie I'm sure there was a fourth. there was a boat called PEPE.
I as a kid went fishing in a boat called the catchalot and then the guy bought a bigger boat painted black called the sea urchin I think the Skippers name was Jack.
Does the Isle of man boat sail from Ardrossan?
Re Largs, Where have the day fishing boats and small motor or rowing boats u could hire all gone? What happened to Nardini's ?

I meant the day fishing trip u pay to go out on, I was ready to say there was no ig fishing oats ut I just remembered that there was, I remember as a boy waiting on the peir at Largs for the trawlers to come in and my family would buy fresh fish from them.

i remember the day trip fishing boats as my dad used to take me out for the day on them, not that we ever caught much. have no idea when they stopped doing the trips as i now live in england

The reason there are no day fishing boats is because The big
FOREIGN Trawlers and Fish Factory ships have caught most of the fish and now they are few and far between, unless you go far far away to fish

dont know about the boats but i hear nardini,s is having a family row, you can still visit the icecream dream next to the ferry terminal, across from the amusement arcade
