if there was the slightest chance of causing a crash, they wouldn't let them onboard at all. After all, there are always several people who forget to turn their phones off.

It could be done in under 2 days if you had no sleep - obviously not a great plan for a novice pilot!

So today me and my fiance got into this incredibly ridiculous argument over whether or not airplanes have headlights. He says that they have forward facing lights to make sure they don't fly into other airplanes or mountains. I say thats silly; they have high tech equipment to tell them how high up they are and they know when mountains are coming.. He laughs and say that "do you think they have sonar that pings and tells them when something is coming?? They have headlights!" I think he is confusing white landing lights with "headlights" and that there isn't a forward facing light to help guide pilots.

So who's right?.. I tried looking online but I think I just found sights with people also confusing landing lights with headlights.

In an earlier question people mentioned about shooting down an antagonist before he knew the Raptor was there. I was wondering how the Raptor could get target's range and bearing information to cue its missiles. For discussions sake, imagine no friendly AWACS for and also that the target is beyond the missile's A-Pole.

I am a student pilot and would like to know if it is legal/possible to take a trip to an air traffic control tower to see the ATC operations. I have a small regional airport around me (KLFT), also (KARA). Is this allowed and how do I go about arranging this. Just call them?

I am very interested in learning how to fly helicopters as my career path. I have check out a couple of schools in the area that offers aviation. The cost all together... a little over $50,000. I was told when flying helicopters there is alot of math involve, math is not my strongest subject- its a true weekness of mine. Can so one tell me what type of math is invole when flying a helicopter. Im planning to get a private tutuor, so that i can bush up on my math. I keep saying to my self i can just learn the math but at times i get discourge which keeps me away from my dream.

Well, pilots, what have you seen spoken by actors in aviation movies that made you want to stand up and scream/laugh etc.
Or, even better, the comment was so far off from what they SHOULD have said, that you wanted to visit the writers and beat them about the cranial area, continuously, until they promised never to write for an aviation film again
