I guess you could start off with lessons.
My uncle flys airplanes for fun and that was how he learned.

Hopefully you'll find a better answer.

With a huge pool of ex military pilots, all with degrees and a huge amount of flying hours the competition is tuff for a decent job. Since you reference Air Force I assume you're looking at a career in flying since the military is sort of overkill just to learn to fly for pleasure.
Don't listen to ignorant people. Some guy with a private license and 150 hours isn't qualified to give you advice.
Do some research, try to get in touch with a military or commercial pilot, the Airline Pilots Association, contact military recruiters about requirements for their flight program or an airline about their requirements, including the freight carriers. Charter companies another source. I imagine most would be willing to talk with a 14 year old who sounds serious and at least mildly intelligent.

1) Wait till you achieve the age requirement.

2) Join the Air Force and they will take you through the mill and make you a pilot.

3) For your civilian licence, you will need to join a flying club, clear the medical check and the related ground subjects. After completing the requisite flying hours you will obtain your Private Pilots Licence in approximately 50 hours of flying. After completing the full advanced course consisting of exams, flying and ratings, you will earn your commercial licence.

You can start ground school now. When I went to flight school I sat next to a F111 jet bomber pilot. I asked him just why in the world are you taking these classes. He told me that the Airforce teaches the pilots to fly military aircraft and not a civilian airplane. So to fly civilian he had to go through civilian flight school. It was out of his own pocket.

Many flying clubs offer a pay as you go flight school. In other words, pay for the 1 hr class when you go. We went once per week, so it wasn't so bad. When you start flying, hang around a hangar, and jump in with another pilot, get more time in your log book for less money.

What I did was to get the great grades in school. Straight A's. I joined the Navy and expressed an interest in flying jets and worked towards it. They do however give an aptitude test to see what you are good at and see where you are best suited. For me it was an easy in. I got the grades I needed. I went to collage and study Engineering and Mathematics and a minor in Aviation Electronics. Work hard and study hard and you will succeed in what ever you do!

One of the duties of a commercial pilot is to fill out lots of paper work which must be clear and easily understood by those who read it, so something you might start working on right now is your grammar. To ever become a pilot you need to improve your spelling and language skills. That means stop using those "texting" shortcuts and communicate in correct English grammar.

It's too bad that when you want answers to something that's important to you you have to sift through crap about your spelling. Fortunately for me, spelling has nothing to do with flying. If you have a chance, take the air force route. It's the best training you can get and won't cost you a dime. In the meantime visit cap.gov. They have a neat program for guys like you. Don't listen to these wannabes who can spell but never achieved what you will in life. Make it happen.

Join the civil air patrol (C.A.P) It is an auxilary of the U.S. AIRFORCE. You get to fly gliders, airplanes, helicopters.
Plus it looks good on your resamae. If you ever want to be in the air force
you can go in at a higher rank. you get to fly alot
you can join at age 12 through age 21. I highly recomend it.
it can help you get your pilot training and licence fast.
Look online for your local sqadron and info on it.

Continue your regular schooling and do some research on the side so by the time you are of age you will have a good knowledge of what it takes to be a pilot. Good Luck!

I'm just 16 & I wanna become a pilot too!!! You could go to commercial piloting courses if your afraid to go to the battlefield(like me). And I think commercial pilots have a higher income than airforce pilots & you get to fly more often & meet different people.
