I'm no A&P mechanic but in the Huey I think blade track was adjusted using the drag links. Don't forget to safety wire those lock nuts though like someone did to me once. yahoo what a ride.

I haven't looked at the blades on a 412, but I helped on a Hiller and a Bell 47. About 2/3 way out on one blade is a small trim tab. The blades are spun up in flat pitch and a telescoping marker is used to make a mark on the white area underneath the end on the blade. As soon as it touches, it is scoped down, the blades are stopped and the mark is observed.
If both blades are marked they are tracking properly. If only one blade is marked, the trim tab must be bent in the proper direction to level the track the blade. If the blade with the tab is marked, the tab must be bent down to raise the blade, if the other is marked the tab must be bent up to lower the tabbed blade.
If neither blade has a tab, all this info is useless to you, but someone else may need it someday.

All of the Bell's I'm familiar with use a swashplate and pitch links to move the rotor blades.

You will find that in the manual, there is a nominal length to set the pitch links at, then you have to run the aircraft up and trck the blades, then adjust according to the manual's specifications.

It's very time-consuming, and, if you're not an A&P with experience, it can be VERY dangerous.

Best go to the maintenance manual. Some have adjustable links and others trim tabs.Others have weights which have to be added. Never go by the seat of your pants Use the manuals
