Most of the general public expects them to wear the "aviator" style frames. The reality is we use anything from Ray Bans to Oakley's. I know a lot of guys where I work really like the Serengeti glasses. the amber glass helps improve clarity without the negative effects (instrument blackout) of polarized lenses. They come in all shaped frames.

This is predicated on the belief that this partnership will be able to foster up just 10% more sales for Google Glass over the course of 20152018. A separate report holds Google Glass at a $10.5B product by 2018, using an even lower unit price of only $500.

I believe the 10% number is a good estimate due to the huge marketshare that Luxxotica enjoys in the market for sunglasses a 12.4% marketshare. Google has also stated that they are a perfect partner to help enhance Google Glass moving forward.

Randolph "Aviator" sunglasses are standard issue for U.S. Air Force pilots and NASA astronauts. I wear them when I fly and they are fantastic. They are available in the classic aviator look but they have others that look good also, but by no means are these just for looks. They are extremely durable, having dropped them a time or two. The 'bayonet' style temple is very comfortable while wearing a headset. The lenses are high quality, crystal clear and come in three tints. I reccomend the grey tint because it has the least amount of color distortion, which is important if you have a color gps display. They go for around $200, which is not bad, considering you may have the same pair for life and who knows, having them may help you spot aircraft sooner, avoiding a collision. You can't put a price on safety. Whatever you do, make sure you do not get polarized lenses, the instruments are already polarized and if you wore polarized lenses they would cancel out and you would see nothing.

Wade's got it pretty well nailed. Serengetti Aviators are common, Oakleys are common. I like a brand called Spy, because they feature replaceable lenses and have a polycarbonate frame that weighs next to nothing.

You can get Oakleys, Serengettis, (and RayBans,) and Spy online, at the mall kiosks, and the Spy brand has the additional advantave of being available in most shops that cater to snowboarders and wakeboarders.

In a pinch, I've seen pilots wear anything that's available, including swiping the cheapies I was wearing for line detail off my hat as he shut the door.

Typically, you want lenses with decent quality, either a close fit or wrap around to help prevent light coming in through the sides, (I've got a pair of Oakly M frames here somewhere,) and the less weight, the less likely you are to have goofy red marks on your nose when you take them off. A good test is that if I can walk into a building and forget that I have them on, I have the right glasses.

People with light colored eyes will find a darker lens more to their preference, and people with darker eyes will find a lighter lens more to their preference.

Expect to pay somewhere around $80 at one end and you can spend over $200 on the other end for a good, high quality pair of sunglasses.

You get the idea.

I am going to try a pair of the Color Eyes sunglasses by Vedalo. They're supposed to greatly improve contrast, especially against a bright sky and thereby improve your vision. We'll see (no pun intended).
They come in all sorts of different shapes and are super lightweight.

Some poker sets are fairly cheap or you could buy the full set with the table top, chips and cards, which would cost a bit more.

Men love gadgets for their cars or trucks. Radar detectors are great for men.

Varnets for me. If they're good for glare when skiing their even better for flying. Never had a pair of "aviator" glasses that was worth a damn. But I guess cool counts too. I'm just no longer as cool as I used to be I suppose.
