My credit is a shambles, I owe the IRS and the state of CA almost 50K I have been out of work since April this year. The penilties and interest are growing like weeds. I'll never get it paid off at this rate. Is there somewhere, with someone that I can get a loan to pay off these and reduce the rate they are increasing. I have just started another job. My income is nothing to sneeze at, but I can't seemto qualify for any type of general type of loan.

I am considering a job that comes with housing and food. The pay is low, but these benefits offset that by quite a bit -- depending on what it does to my taxes! I am neither clergy nor military. The job is in California. How do I compute taxes on these benefits?

I bought the truck new in aug 05. Traded it in around sept of 06 because my gas bill was reaching $500 a month. Bought a honda cr-v which gets much better milage. DIdn't want to give up my truck but felt like I couldn't afford to keep paying for gas. I traded the Truck in for 11,000 less than it originally cost a year ago. I feel like high gas prices put me in a position where I couldn't afford to keep the vehicle and had to take a big loss on it. I use this vehicle as a primary means to get to work is that or could that be a business loss or some other loss.

Which TurboTax Software fits me? With house mortgage and business.?
I have my own regular salary from work. I registed a furniture company (sole proprietor) in May this year but I haven't started the business yet. I went to oversea for looking for a good manufacturer last month.
1. Could I claim the travel fee, register fee and advertistment fee (for the company) as expenses?
2. I don't have any income from my business. Could I claim the above expenses from my regular income?
3. Which TurboTax Software fits me?
Thank you for all of you.

Some lower courts will try to uphold the 16th ammendment as the law. However, the Supreme Court has ruled the 16th ammendment DOES NOT allow the Government to tax income (income as defined by the constitution, the IRS does not define income in its code). So, why are we voluntarily paying this tax? I don't know about you but I could use the thousands of dollars the IRS is claiming illegally from me.

The couple lives in Michigan. The husband is contemplating moving to Illinois to accept a job that would require him to live in Chicago. His wife would continue to live in Michigan. Therefore, they would have to file separate individual tax returns instead of a joint return. All other things being the same, would they have to pay more taxes in total because of having to file separate returns?
