To really answer this I would need more info but initially I would say yes- settlement is from a lawsuit? This would be taxable. If the settlement is LIFE INSURANCE it is not taxable. Best thing to do is to spend $150 and go see a CPA (certified pubilc accountant) who can both give you tax planning advice and file this years taxes so you don't have any nasty surprises later. sorry about your loss.

You have to explain what the $2100 involves. Where did this twist of fate arise? What was once her harm? Is she nonetheless treating? If so, you must now not be speakme cost. What are her meds? Are they brilliant? Did she lose time from paintings?
