I have been consulting for a company that represents itself as a not for profit even though they do not have not-for-profit status. They claim they have filed but not yet received approval.

The law changed recently, and it isn't clear to me whether the hybrid tax credit is exempt from the AMT. Searching on the net finds both yes and no answers!

After my boyfriend filed for taxes and received his income tax refund, he received a letter from the IRS saying that they were reviewing his tax return and they requested some information. My boyfriend had a paid preparer file his taxes and I was wondering if it is the preparer's responsibility if the return is incorrect or does it even matter?

I know someone that's claims his grandkids to get earned income.Been doing it for about 8 years and still counting and has never been caught. That stuff makes me sick because I'm trying to keep my family fed and they are ripping off our tax dollars. No the kids don't live with him he just uses them to get that extra money for himself.

I bought a home in AZ (as a second home) in March 2005. I was told that if I sold the home 2 years later, you would not have to pay capital gain taxes on this. Is this true?

I bought the home for $180,000 and the going market value is about $240,000.......

Please help! I don't want to pay capital gain taxes on this home.. Are there any other options?

I live in NJ but the cost of living is very expensive, and I don't even want to talk about insurance, car insurance is ridiculous, when I pay almost 3.000 a year people down in GA are paying around 1.000 .

To buy a house in here at least 500.000 if you want to get something decent, when you can get something bigger and nicer somewhere else for about half and the salary down in GA is about the same .

Lets say on top of your salary you get an annual $2000 bonus. How much of this will be taxed when you report it. What are the penalties for not reporting it? Fraud? How does your employer report it?

Does anyone know of a website that has payroll tax information for the state of TX? It needs to include all tax brackets, (base pay, overtime, bonuses, income levels, tips, etc) My job has a really strange payroll program, a million ways to pay you wrong...and I want to be able to stay on top of it. I will be writing a program in C++ that takes all pay details, figures gross pay, and net pay, and I want it to be as accurate as possible, so I need a site that is sponsored by the state of TX. Thank you
