I've been with my bf for 5 years, living together for 4 years.. and we had our first child in July 2005. Ever since having our child .. we decided it would be better for me to be a stay at home mother. So I've been out of work since June 2005 ....

Now my question is ... can he claim me and our daughter on his tax return as dependents? Should he claim head of household or just Single?? (We live in the US = Hawaii to be exact)

Thanks in advance ... Happy New Year!!

What should I do? Apparently there was a mixup, I stayed with my parents for the past 2 years and I thought they were claiming me on their income tax but I just found out that they assumed I was filing my own taxes. Should I just sent them in now??

Or do you have to wait for your W2's to come in. My husband has worked the same job all year long and we were just curious.

I bought a house about 4 years ago. The owner financed the house to me. I had some financial problems and was unable to keep up with the payments on the house and the property taxes. The owner told me the city filed a lawsuit against him to recover back taxes and he paid some of the taxes and added it to my balance. He took back the house and now has sold it. Do I have to pay the remainder of the taxes owed?

ok, i plan on filing my taxes thru online program such as turbo tax...using my check stubs instead of w2 forms cuz i need money now and the forms will come too late. i have the stub for the job ive been at the last 8 months but what happens if i leave off the stubs from jobs i had early in the year. can i leave them off the tax report then when i get their w2 forms, go back and say "well i forgot about these" and file them separately?

Are there better times to buy/sell ETF's for tax purposes? Was wondering if certain times were more beneficial in terms of filing taxes. Does the type of security matter?

One grandbaby is 13 1/2 months old and has olny lived outside of our home for maybe 2 whole months. The other baby is 9 months old has has lived here for 6 months. The parents totally believe that they should be able to claim their child on income tax when we have raised them and never asked for a penny and they have never offered. The oldest child lives in our home because of CPS. I think our children are being selfish and not thinking about us. Oh might I mention that my daughter and her baby lives with us. My son and his pregnant wife and baby lives with us. These are the kids not thinking of us only of themselves. Got any input?

I need to get involved with some activism in that area as I can't stand the way my portion of taxes are being used and a lowered set of various taxations would be a great help to every American......Thanks in advance. I must say that since I have been using this Yahoo service I have been getting a much better quality of input than any other method I have seen, groups etc..
