I'm getting about 15 items shipped to me from China and I'm curious what kind of red tape I may face upon their arrival.

My logic is this: If Wal*Mart and every other major store does it, why can't I?

And if your local mayor said he checked into it and said there's no requirement in the tax code--it's a voluntary tax.

And your whole town wasn't going to file.

Would you join in a group effort?

It's too scary of course to do it on your own, but there's strength in numbers. How would we get a group of people together that could get attention and make an impact?

Will any CONGRESSMEN reply and SHOW US THE LAW in the IRS Tax Code that says we are REQUIRED TO PAY?

Will and JUDGE? IRS AGENT?

WILL any SENATOR?

Did you know last year a former IRS agent who believed that the agency was bullying little people with no ability to fight, and decided to stand up for what was right and not pay, and because the judge refused to show the jury the IRS CODE that says IT IS A REQUIRED TAX, not a Voluntary Tax, they ACQUITTED HIM.

OK tax buffs...I've got a question that I couldn't find a clear answer to on IRS's website:

My work-related expenses (not reimbursed by my employer) for 2006 total about 2.6% of my AGI. I was reading about work-related deductions on the IRS website, and there seems to be a "limitation" of 2% of AGI to take this deduction.

What does this mean? Does it mean that your work-related expenses must total at least 2% of your AGI in order to be able to deduct them? Or can you ONLY deduct work-related expenses above and beyond 2% of your AGI? Or are you only allowed to deduct work-related expenses UP TO 2% of your AGI?

Please help...I am pretty confused. I've always used TurboTax but this year I might get some professional help!

I work part time for him and he pays me most of the time by check. I keeps about 1/3 of his payment from the jobs for tax purposes. I work full time, but this is the first time with a part time job on the side. If I include it, will this be considered double taxation? I don't want to be audited, as I am sure that the occassional large deposits in my account (average around $400 - $500) would raise a red flag with the auditor, and most likely drag my boss into it. I'm really trying to cover my hind end on this. Any information is appreciated. I would say the total amount is about $2000 - $3000 for the year. Thanks.

I was wondering what the best route would be to get the most back.
I made more than her this year, by about 20K, and we had our first child three weeks ago. So I don't know how I should file this year and who should claim the baby to get the most money back.
Thanks!!!!!!!!!
