The woman doing my taxes advised me to file taxes jointly with my fiance'. I was wondering if that is illegal? He is also in the military, so I don't want to get into any kind of trouble.

Do you know that the Federal Reserve is NOT a government agency,. rather they are a group of private banks, and that they profit from your taxes? Like they say...the truth is out there....you just have to look and act if you dont like it.

My ex-girlfriend has custody of our son, I pay child support
EVERY month. In our custody agreement, I get to claim him every other year. This is my year. Since I don't have sole custody of him for more than 6 months, do I get to file HOH or must I file single because his mother has custody? Thanks.

OK. TECHNICALLY I WAS UNEMPLOYED ALL YEAR LAST YEAR, BUT I DID WATCH MY SISTER'S BABY DAILY FOR 8 MONTHS AND SHE PAID ME WEEKLY TO DO SO. I WANT TO USE THIS INCOME TO FILE TAXES THIS YEAR, BECAUSE I GENERALLY RECEIVE A REFUND DUE TO MY INCOME AND DEPENDANTS. SO MY QUESTION IS HOW DO I GO ABOUT DOING THIS? WHAT INFO DO I NEED TO FILE USING THIS INCOME? IS THIS POSSIBLE? IF SO, HOW DO I DO IT?

My husband's income puts us in the highest marginal tax rate bracket. My 16 year old daughter who lives at home and is our dependent had a job this summer and earned $2000.00. Is she taxed at the same marginal rate rate as my husband?

This is my first time filing taxes as an independent contractor. I'm trying to decide between 3 tax software titles:

$90 - TurboTax: Home&Business Edition
http://turbotax.intuit.com/tax_products/learn_home_business.jhtml

$80 - HR-Block: Home&Business Edition
http://store.taxcut.com/dr/v2/ec_MAIN.Entry10?V1=877874&PN=1&SP=10023&xid=1478&CUR=840&DSP=&PGRP=0&ABCODE=&CACHE_ID=0

$60 - HR-Block: Premium Edition
http://store.taxcut.com/dr/v2/ec_Main.Entry17c?SID=1478&SP=10023&CID=0&PID=860899&PN=1&V1=860899&CUR=840&DSP=&PGRP=0&ABCODE=&CACHE_ID=0

Which of these software titles would work best for a home run business? Also, should I use an e-file?

Ok, I bought my first home in sept. I am getting ready for taxes this year and i am confused. I know you can deduct your interest and property taxes but they dont equal more then my standerd deduction. Is there a way to do both? I know after a full year of paying this may work out better but i was hoping to see some benefits of owning a home right away. Is there something else i can look for to help with this?

thanks in advance

Explain me where is the justice. Why the person who makes more money get to pay more taxes?! The services are equally shared among rich and poor. Nobody gets the service from the government better is he is paying more taxes. Than how higher taxes are justified? Why the person, who makes more money, supposed to pay for the services used by someone who pays fewer taxes?
Please do not bring the arguments of we all supposed to fight the poverty or help each other. This is not about justice; it’s about humanity. My question is about justice. Humanity issues are out of the border of this discussion.

Ok, i am wondering, i Efiled my taxes online, and the Efile was accepted by IRS Jan 13th. The company i went through emailed me once IRS had accepted and said i would have my return Jan 26th. When i checked the IRS website, however, they said BY jan 30th....not a big difference, but do you think i will recieve the refund the 26th like the company i filed through advised, or by the 30th like the IRS website indicates? Also, has anyone ever efiled online and recieved their refund later or earlier then told?
