My mom is asking someone to do my taxes, and I really don't want her to know how much I made this year (she likes to take my money). What will happen if I don't report all of my income for the year? I worked at four places in 2006: one place (around $3200), second ($600), and then I got an internship that paid $2400. Then in school, I made about $500.

What will happen if I don't send her the info for the internship? Can I just send her the current information, and then contact whoever later and tell them that I "forgot" some information?

What's are the possible problems that can come out of not reporting the internship money? I know nothing about taxes...any help would be appreciated.

If someone could explain what exactly filing taxes does, that would be great. Thanks.

here in Missouri there is a tax on food. if a wealthy person goes in and buys $100.00 of groceries and a working poor person buys $100.00 of groceries, they pay the same tax. that is not fair at all, and everyone needs food. they need to do away with food tax and have or increase the luxury tax. your thoughts

Hi,

I had a very unsucessful career as an (indenpendent contractor) online transcriptionist. In the 2 months I did this I only made $60. Actually, after the supplies I purchased for this job I'm in the hole -$10. My question is, do I need to deal with this on my tax return? I plan on asking my accountant, but I wanted to get an idea of what to expect.

Thank you!

I have been refered to 3 different entities already and none appears "responsible" for ensuring former employees recieve the W-2 for tax filing.
Thanks

I do my own taxes online each year using TurboTax (and have been really pleased with it!). This year, a few things are different for me. I have made some hefty investments in mutual funds, a Roth IRA, and I purchased a Life Insurance Policy. Do I need any information about these accounts for tax purposes?

Is it possible or likely that the "diminished value" could actually be more than someone pays for the land itself.
