If not, why not? Is it because our tax system works on a "graduated" income tax?

I have done the Dependent Care FSA with my employer for 3 years now, but it's a huge pain to claim to get my money reimbursed biweekly. How much of a benefit am I actually getting by going through this process? Can't I just claim my up to $5,000 on my tax return at the end of the year and get the same tax break?

There are ex employees of the IRS stating that they quit and have not paid taxes since as there is no law that states we have to. Any tax lawyers out there that can verify that?

Before the end of the year, we want to build a well house. The well pump is buried in the property that we bought.

Do you know how it is deductible?

I also have a home-based business

Would it be worth it to pay off all medical bills with a credit card before Dec 31st? Would it increase my refund greatly or not enough to make it worth it?

I received $15,000 from a sale of land in July. I had planned to make a one time payment with a 3rd quarter voucher. I missed the deadline in September for the 3rd quarterly tax payment. Is it better to pay now (late) or when the 4th payment is due (at the end of the year)? Also, I did not make a 1st or 2nd quarter payment because I didn't know I would be selling the land. Thanks for your help!

Hello,

I got my H1B visa this month (I've had the TN visa for a year so far) and my current employer has given back to me the social security and medic aid deductions that have accumulated since they hire me. My employer will also not deduct these things any more.
However, my former employer had been collecting social security and medic aid but have not got that refunded yet.
Is there any way I can apply for the refund?
I still have the pay stubs from my previous employer.

Thank you.
Agustin.

My husband is a farmer, and he receives 2500 bushel of corn at the end of the year. This year that amounted to about $8000. Do we claim this on taxes? And if so, how do we claim to benefit us the most...so we don't screw ourselves and lose most of it. Obviously the grain place that buys the corn, has to list on taxes as an expense, so I would imagine we would have to claim it. Last year H&R Block said it needed to be claimed as self employment income (which sucks because we obviously didn't have any losses on it) and I was wondering if there is a better way to claim it, because it is a bonus, a perk of the job...it is not self-employment income. Please help. And please be honest, I don't want to get into any trouble.

After I moved to New York, I still kept all my car related paper work in Rhode Island to save on car insurance. When I tried to renew my registration plate online a couple days ago, I found that I 've been blocked due to "municipal tax passed due". Since I don't live there any more, I don't want to pay that, but on the other hand, could it affect me in some way for not paying it?

I have question about whether to file jointly with my husband or separately. My situation:one income earned $48K, husband doesn't work,2 babies, owned two houses under my name and he has a college loan garneshment which will take all tax refunds.Last two years, I have file jointly.I just started to work this month,October. On my W4, I will claim 9 or exempt.I am not sure if I have to pay any taxes this year or refund.I am thinking of file separately and take the EIC and keep all tax refunds.
