I'm no longer a student, but i'm the only liable person in my household now (the rest are students). This means i have to pay for the lot! Oh cool i get 25% discount, but i still pay 100 per month which is impossible. Can i just send them a fotocopy of last years letter from uni with "altered" dates? Will they check?

I think that my job is cheating me. I am a full time high school student and according to NYS law if you are a full time high school student I should put exempt and these people are saying I'm not eligible for it. So now they're taking out income tax out of my pay check as well as federal and state tax. I should not be paying both taxes and income tax as a high school student. How can I find out what the law is so I can bring it to their faces and tell them a thing or two. Because I am not going to stand for this.

I've sent off my last tax return now I want to clear out my office and rid myself of the constant reminder of the turmoil I am in. Can I burn or shred all the files or am I legally bound to keep them in case the taxman wants to drain more blood from my empty lifeless soul?

And I haven't tried to avoid paying tax - a friend helped me with my tax return and we put something in the wrong column - it wasn't spotted by the tax office at the time but now they have found it and are throwing the book at me. I should have got an accountant but didn't think I needed one because I was doing everything by the book (or so I thought).

I work in a restaurant that has a tip share program. Based on total sales the wait staff tips out the back and the front of the house i.e. the food runner, hostesses and in my case...the cook. My question is should the owner of the restaurant be taxing the tip share before it becomes a "whole" part of my declared income? I guess my concern is that if I'm taxed immediately on that nights tip share, say $25, isn't that going to lead to less taxes than if I'm taxed on say, $150 tipshare for the week or even worse on my total bi-weekly salary+ the tipshare earned withen the pay period (which is the case with me)? Confusing! Is anyone up to the challenge?

it was fun at first but it's getting tiring and I'd rather just spend my money on a good stripper that knows how to treat me better than the government :) (Also, dont say leave the country or to become a bum or to become a celebrity....that wont work)
