This page is dedicated to all of you who hate taxes and everything that has to do with them.

We have to pay taxes, because we have dogs. But our dogs never go outside our garden. (we have this huge garden with meadows and horses and such, sort of a farm). The money we pay is used for the cleaning of dogpoop in cities. Thus, we are very angry and we would like your opinion.

I make about $41,000 at one job and $8,000 at another job. I just bought a home and I estimate I'll be paying about $17,000 in interest this year. How much should i claim so that I can maximize how much i take home a month without having to pay at the end of the year? I am single with no kids. Estimated annual property tax would be about $800. Income tax rate is about 8%. No other contributing factors except for 4% going into my 401k. Hope that is enough info to answer my question.

A combined £600,000 IHT threshold for husband and wife or civil partners was already possible by effective tax planning.
There is no tax change there, only a punishment to those who paid for complex wills to be drawn up, which excluded me.
It seems to me that IHT is a regressive tax, rigourously collected, at a time when relatives are still grieving.
Surely, it is more civilised to levy and collect taxes from the living, allowing the more responsible, who prefer to save and provide for their offspring rather spend the kid's inheritance, the opportunity to do so. The tax uptake can be the same, but the latter option is inately more progressive.
Further, many individuals feel discriminated against by the existing IHT regulations. What about single people?
What about the increasing numbers of couples who decide to co-habit, and choose not to marry? What about individuals who were married and are now divorced? What about couples currently married who subsequently divorce?

I live in Massachusetts, USA. I'm gonna be working at the US Postal Service. I'm gonna be getting a starting salary of 13.75/per hour. How much would I be making after tax if I'm making $550 a week not including tax? How much will they take out? I think I would be making somewhere between 18-20gs not counting tax. So I just want to know if I'm making $550 a week without tax deductible, How much will I really be making a week if they take out tax from it? Thanks to all in advance.

I don't charge my customers for sales tax (easier for them to accept fixed prices),so I give them round packages (e.g. $800) and I invoice them for 850.40 (package + sales tax), then, I give them a credit against the "sales discount" G/L account for the 50.40, that way I account for the sales tax, but eat it out of my pocket.
I noticed that my acctn. software puts the "sales discount" credit as an income G/L account. It does come off the balance, but I am not sure I am screwing up my income statement. I don';t really understand how a sales discount acct. can be considered income.
Am I doing the right thing? or is there a better way to pay sales tax, and still give round price packages?
Is sales discount the right account to post to, to offset the sales tax so I can pay it instead of the customer?
This probably sounds too confusing, but I really need help. Any accounting guru out there?
Thanks!!!!

Someone in another one of my questions said at 400 a year i have to file taxes, but does that mean that after 400 they start taxing? Becaue i thought anything under 8k was untoachable. Does it make a difference if im a self employed minor and a dependant of my parents?

If i made more than 3k but only since august? My parents have always had me as a dependant until now. Could i be like partially dependant? Why are you considered independant once you make 3k A YEAR? What??!!

Also exactly how much do you get for having a dependant? Isnt it like 6k you get to write off?

Is there anyway around this? Like since my parents pay, and can prove the pay, for my school, clothes, food, transportation, everything.

Also can i still file taxes as a dependant? Im self employed and im gonna need to file taxes this year, because if i do it under my parents name i wont be able to afford their tax bracket percentages! (im a minor)
