the loan would be to start a small business and purchase equipment in Iowa. Good credit score of 650. Could get a cosigner if necessary and put about 10% down.

I ideally want a one or two word company name that means British and regal and prestigious. It will be used as a company that manages events and weddings but it doesn't have to relate to that - anyone got any ideas?

In the next year, I am going to buy one semi truck and hire an employee driver to drive my truck. My truck will be leased to a trucking company that will handle the general operations and daily business of my truck. What type of business should I form?

LLC, S-Corp, Sole Proprietorship

I am thinking an LLC would be the best way to go but am worried about being the sole owner when it seems having a business partner would suit this type of business form better for tax purposes. However, it would limit my liability which would be very beneficial in case of a serious accident.

Any opinions or resources are appreciated.

I would like to set up a shop on ebay selling fashion jewellery, including belly bars etc and I read most of the policies on selling. It says you can't sell items that are copies but I've noticed many people are doing it including shops but they've had no action taken against them as in the rules it states you would be penalised if you do (copyright laws etc). The reason why I ask is I was going to buy a few playboy items off ebay to resell but I don't want to get into trouble if I do. How do other people get away with it or is it okay to sell copies if you say they are? I wouldn't be selling them at designer prices and I've noticed there are hundreds of copies for sale. Any advice from experienced ebayers would be great thanks!

I recently spoke to a small business owner in the food industry about opening a small business for myself.

He doesn't seem to happy about this franchise fees and other things they impose. What are you thoughts about opening a small business? Franchise vs non-franchise?

I know with a franchise, you get name recognition and they also do some marketing for you (to a certain extent), but is it worth it?

I'm trying to think of a small business to open, but have not narrowed it down to food, service or retail. Any pro's and con's to each that you can think of would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

Most recently, GDI is the one that comes to mind. It's MLM/pyramid scheme like. So, I'm looking for REAL sources. Not the "make $1000 a week working 10 minutes a day".
